Great gate.
This is very helpful at containing our puppy when needed. It has good quality material. It fits perfectly in our door way. It is easy to remove and install. Once it is installed it doesn't budge.

Well designed, comes with everything needed!
In an effort to keep household harmony between our cat and dog during meal times, we decided to get a small gate for our pantry area so the cat could be at peace during dinner. We didn't want anything gigantic, our dog is not huge and has no desire or inclination to jump. Please keep in mind, this gate is not tall (18 inches as stated in the product description), so if you have a slightly larger dog, this may not be the best. The gate comes with a main piece that has a small gate in it for a cat or small dog to get through, this has a little latch that will keep this shut if that is not desirable, we keep ours mostly shut to stop the dog trying to sneak through! Also included are two extension pieces, one is 4 inches, the other is 6. Both can be used at the same time if needed. Also included are two small plastic footers to attach to the bottom, this allows the gate to rest on the floor with no chance of it slipping down and actually touching the floor. There are also 4 pucks, these can be screwed (or maybe glued if need be) to the insides of the door and are used to hold the individual pads that help hold the gate in place. In our case, we didn't use these. I found the gate to be plenty sturdy for our use with just the pads being tightened to hold the gate against the wooden frame. For our needs, this item worked great, the cat has his personal space, it also keeps our youngest from trying to get into the pantry and pulling everything off the shelves.

Terrible design. Not good for small dogs or big dogs.
I dunno how this thing managed to get good reviews when even positive reviews have photo evidence showing the users having to jimmy this gate into useability with hacks like bamboo or cardboard inserts to fill the side-gaps.The gate is so short, it's clearly only for the smallest of dogs, which would be fine, mine fits the bill and it's clearly meant as a 'step-over' gate. But because it 'adjusts' width largely by the lengthening-pressure-pad screws on the ends, you'll very likely end up with big gaps on both sides of the gate, big enough for the 'smallest of dogs' to sneak through. Like why. If you have to ram extra obstacles in the gaps like poles or cardboard or whatever in order to make the thing work, I don't think it's very good. I might as well tape a little cardboard 'wall' in the same spot and it'd probably be about as effective.Went for a nicer gate that opens and closes for humans, instead of a step-over, and the quality is leagues better, so I recommend it (bought 4!): Frisco Extra Wide Auto-Close Pet Gate, 30-in Height, slide 1 of 6

There's a 2in gap between the door and bar
Really liked this gate at first. Good quality. Easy to install and sturdy. The bad thing is it has a 2in gap on one side between the last bar and the door frame!! We had to makeshift a peice of cardboard and tape to keep the dog from sleeping out there. Good spacing between the bars on the rests of the gate though. After the modification it is small enough to hold in a 3lb chihuahua!

Perfect Gate to Keep Puppies Contained!
I breed Labrador puppies and during their first weeks, I keep them in the spare bedroom, and when they become mobile and outgrow the whelping box, I allow them to roam free. But, I don't want them to roam all over the house at night while we're sleeping. I could have put up a regular gate, but then their mama couldn't get in there to feed them in the middle of the night! So this was the perfect option! Currently they are 5 weeks old and still cannot climb over the gate and their mama can jump over seamlessly.I will add: it did not fit my doorframe, so I had to take the spinning mechanisms off on one side. This does not effect the effectiveness of the gate in any way. The side that I kept the spinning mechanisms on does the trick beautifully and allows it to fit tightly.Even when the Criminal Masterminds known as the "Chew Crew" litter of puppies (12 of them this litter) all stand up on it to try to push it over - they can't! They also cannot squeeze through it which is amazing! The bars on it are close enough together.Perfect gate for my purposes!

Unexpected toddlers
I'm 57 years old and not had little ones in my house for a LOOOOOOOng time. When friends with 3 babies under 3 had an unexpected run of bad luck they came to stay with me. My poor dog needed a place to escape. This gate worked perfect. I didn't have to fight with it to get in the room. The dog could get in and out and the little boogers at least got slowed down enough to distract them before they got in my room. gate is very short, comes just below my knee. It suits my need well because it is a temporary situation, but if these were my grandkids I would have opted for a taller version.
