Puzzled.
A very pleasant book with an unexpected ending. Effie explains she's 26 and her ex is the same age. All well and good until it transpires that said ex is a cardiologist and TV doctor. How on earth did he manage to squeeze in all those years at medical school with further years studying cardiology at such a tender age? I must have missed something? It's not a big deal but it played on my mind throughout the whole story.

good book
The Party Crasher by Sophie Kinsella, yet another one of the famous authors work which is a super fun and entertaining read. The book is about family love, family tensions and what you might hear if they didn't know you were in the room.Effie, our main character who is filled with wit, humour and sassy nature at few places. The party of the year which no one should miss. The book has some very interesting main characters as well as fun side characters.I've read one or two Sophie Kinsella's works in the past and this one was no different, infact was very fun and same paced. Kinsella's books tend to be fun and joyful on the surface but also holds some emotional family feelings under the surface. This one was equally good and I guess the perfect book to end the year. I love the underneath romance piling up, along with this some family drama was very fun and also emotional at times.

Sophie Kinsella again delivers a fun, quirky romantic comedy
It’s been a while since I have read a Sophie Kinsella novel and this week I settled down for a combined read/listen of ‘The Party Crasher’.It was a fun read, very much a feel good comedy-drama and reminded me of why I so enjoy her books. It was light-hearted and sweet without being too cloying and was full of eccentric characters and quirky situations.

A joy to read
Sophie Kinsella never fails to make me laugh and smile and there were plenty of both to be had while reading The Party Crasher.I absolutely loved the concept of Effie crashing a family party, a farewell to the beloved family house, and being able to get in and out to rescue her precious Russian dolls, all in theory without being seen or any other incident. She's only not going as she's at odds with her father at the momenta, and especially his new girlfriend Krista. In fact Krista appears to be a bit of a nightmare, although Effie is the only one of her family that seems to be able to see it.To say her plan isn't as simple as it sounds is an understatement, and had it gone according to plan it would have been a far less entertaining story! For this is wonderful from her various hiding places, to the eavesdropping and the amount of secrets she discovers, and things she wishes she could unsee too. It's fabulously light hearted fun, pure escapism and totally what I love about the author. I just couldn't devour this fast enough, while in my garden during the heatwave. It's another absolutely joyous story from one of my favourite authors.

Loved it!
Effie doesn't get along with her father's newish girlfriend, so when she's not invited to a party to memorialize the selling of the family estate, she's pretty much okay with it - until she remembers that a cherished childhood toy is secreted in the house. So, she decides the party is a perfect time to break in and retrieve her nesting dolls. This also means that she overhears conversations about herself and her family, leading to new understandings and some hilarious results. The story takes place mostly over two days, but each character is given nuance and depth as expected from a Sophie Kinsella novel. Effie does some growing up and mends some broken relationships. There's a romance, but it's back-burner which is fine. There are laugh-out-loud moments and some sad ones, and it's a great read.
