I had zero expectations for this inexpensive device, but it was worth a shot to get my otherwise amazingly well behaved dog to stop barking at the air every morning when he went outside. The controls are easy enough but not really intuitive. I have zero confidence that it will last long term. The battery doesn’t last all that long. Even with all that, I give this 5 stars because it absolutely works. Fast. It took one morning and two barks. He will not bark with that collar on. Ever. Whether or not it has battery. Even without the collar he doesn’t bark for about a week or two. I put it back on for a couple of days and he is bark free for another week or so. Absolutely amazing and also terrifying that it could be so bad to leave such an impression. So I tried it on myself. You can set the level of the beep, vibrate and zap separately. Essentially the dog gets 3 two strikes before getting zapped. I set the beep at the highest, the vibration at the highest and the zap at the second lowest (2 of 7). The vibration is what gets my dog … he hates it so I don’t think he ever actually got zapped … but like I said, I tried it and the zap on 2 will make a human jump but it isn’t what I would call painful. So for absolutely accomplishing the goal, I give this 5 stars.

Updated review: About a month after we received this, it started shocking my dog without her even barking! Nearby noise would set it off! After we removed it, it lost battery and never charged or turned on again. I purchased the warranty on this & have received the run around from them. I have yet to receive a refund. They also notified me that if & when they do issue me a refund, they will not be refunding the taxes I paid.Initial review:We recently got a German Malanois who will not stop barking if she is in her dog run or in her kennel. She can bark for hours on end...to the point of losing her voice. This collar has finally brought us some peace. After a couple of uses, she does not even try to bark when she has it on anymore. She would get herself very agitated barking non stop in her dog run and now she just lays down and relaxes. The same is true with her time in her indoor kennel. Yesterday there was a storm and we brought her into her kennel. Normally she would bark throughout the night and wake us up constantly, but last night she was quiet! We are so thankful to have our quiet back.

We have an 8 month old goldendoodle who found her voice and loves to hear it as well as "talk" to the other dogs in the neighborhood. She also seems to think that setting one paw outside required an immediate bark, I guess announcing her presence. We tried all of the positive reinforcement and she was too stubborn to participate, so I went looking for something like this. We don't use the shock feature, only the beep+vibration. She hates it, so it has helped to quiet her a bit. However, it is hit or miss - it doesn't always go off when she starts barking. It's often enough that she gets the point, but doesn't react to her barking every time. Also - she is smarter than the collar. She has figured out that it will let her bark once without repercussion, so she will bark, wait a bit, and bark again - on repeat. She has outsmarted it. It's been about 2 weeks now and it has cut her barking by about 60%, although if another dog in the neighborhood is barking incessantly she will power through it to answer (assuming that it does go off). End result - it has helped, but not solved our issue. Between the dog being too smart and stubborn and it not always reacting to her bark, it's not quite as effective as I would like it to be.

This collar works great! It’s a lot better than yelling “stop barking” every few seconds. As soon as it’s on, the behavior changes. I call it “the silencer”! The other shock training collar with the remote I call “the collar of discipline”. It will beep first as a warning, with continued barking it will then vibrate, if dog continues, it then delivers a short zap which distracts dog from being in bark mode.Note: You must use the charger shipped with the collar. We lost it and had huge issues getting it to charge. The actual charging prong is elongated compared to the normal micro usb.The seller went about and beyond to help us immediately and resent us a charger that arrived almost next day! I have never seen such great customer service on here and I shop Amazon every day. Thank you! Great price, great item, great seller!!

I ordered this collar about 8 months ago, and it worked well for deterring my boy from barking. It didn’t completely stop him, but it definitely helped! However, it has recently stopped working. Now, when I turn it on, it just beeps over and over again. So, it worked well for a short while. Now it’s garbage.

My dog has always barked nonstop, wakes us up at all hours of the night, annoys neighbors and guests to no end. We recently moved to a neighborhood where her barking really got out of control, so I bought this collar in desperation hoping for even a slight improvement. It’s amazing. I set the strength on 3 out of 7, and within one day of wearing the collar, my dog stopped barking when the collar is on. After one week, she is silent when wearing the collar even when I have it turned off! The collar is pretty large, so I had to shorten it for my dog, who is a 25-30 pound terrier mix. I like that I can set the collar to beep and vibrate as gentle warning before shocking and that it has 7 strengths for each setting. We are beyond pleased with this collar and the whole neighborhood is getting better sleep!!!

It is rechargeable, waterproof, and suitable for dogs of different sizes (small, medium, and large). Our first unit failed right away, but the second one seemed to be working fine. However, we noticed that the shock function is not functioning, even after trying different settings. Despite this issue, we still like the collar because our puppies responded well to it when it was working. However, we only wish that the quality and battery life could be improved.
