Worst epoxy resin I have ever used
I’ve been pouring epoxy resin for a couple of years using a variety of brands. After hearing this product’s name being used by some talented makers, I wanted to give it a try. I got the “fast” cure - absolutely terrible. Visible fumes when curing that smell awful, so ventilation and a mask is a must. Not as all suitable for use in molds. In fact, I’m not sure what it could be suitable for period. The end product was full of micro bubbles, discolored yellow, and had ripples from where heat/gas collected along contact points with molds. Absolutely terrible.

Terrible
Very disappointed and unhappy. I heard really great things about this product. I was hesitant because it is priceier than the other brands I have used in the passed. However every raved about this product. Package info was great but that’s where it end. It says clear epoxy however the harder can out yellow. Not like a yellow tent but really yellow. That should have tipped me off something was wrong. However I kept going. I mixed the proper ratio thinking because it’s a 2:1 ratio it would even out. It did to some point but still had the yellow tent. I didn’t mind that because I was using blue mica powder. As soon I as added the mica powder it was like a science experiment gone wrong. The epoxy literally started smoking and bubbling. Maybe I received a bad batch but I can not use this.

Certainly works.
Used this to seal up a piece of reclaimed red oak that was to be used as a wall cap/bar.Bought slow dry and fast dry.If you are new to filling in wood (like me) I’d recommend slow dry. Have patience and a lot of it. Because if you think you need a quart, you’re wrong. You’ll need 1.5. Think you need a gallon? No. You’ll need way more. It’s amazing how much of this can be soaked into an old piece of wood. The fast dry smelled disgusting. Like fish. Not sure if that was a fluke or why it would have a different scent than the slow dry. But, once mixed and dried it is fine.Small complaint- I wish the straws for the pumps came premeasured and pre cut.I haven’t compared the price of this to other epoxy, but the two quarts I needed cost almost half the price of the reclaimed wood. Frustrating. That being said, the pumps are designed to give to a 1-1 pumps ratio and it works great. Fool proof.

Works On Wheelchair Ramps Too!
I was faced with how to repair a soft spot and hole in my wheelchair ramp. Cutting out a portion and replacing it is not an option due to the box support system used by the architect/builder. The ramp is 1⅛ inch CDX that has been sealed and maintained over its 20 year life. The soft spot is where the front wheel is in a hard L-R turn along with a velocity change. The area that I wound up repairing is approx. 9½ x 17 x ⅝+/- inches deep. Layers scraped as shown. The repair areas were wetted first then additional layers added using West Systems 403 Micro Fiber thickener.Net step is to seal it all up again and see how well everything holds over the next few winters.

Excellent product! Highly recommended
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Used to seal an outdoor table formed out of 26 pallet bottoms. Went with Total Boat’s Epoxy as my first option after watching The Wood Whisperer’s Video endorsing the brand.Product is easy to mix. No fuss measurements. Mixed product with acetone for better absorption. Laid down 3 coats for the top and 2 for the bottom with 220 grit sanding in between. The product produced excellent results and sealed medium to minor openings.Purchased the quart option just to test out and it was well worth it. Well priced but for larger projects, the gallon option is necessary even if it is pricey. At a 2:1 ratio, you end up running through the hardener a little quicker than the epoxy. Will buy again! Might try the penetrating epoxy kit next to see the difference in absorption rates and quality of seal. A great product for any woodworker making quality waterproof outdoor furniture.

Great product!
Mixed this with brass powder to do a metal inlay for a chess table that I made for my husband. With the slow hardener, I had enough working time (about 20 minutes or so) to do one mix and fill both the board and table. Crystal clear. Sanded down, it looks just like metal! All of the brass color on the board and table in the pictures (other than the chess pieces) is the epoxy/brass mixture. And, customer service is awesome when you need some advice.

Flash set 3 times!!!! Soo much wasted resin.
I have now poured this resin 5 times.. I live in California and I watch when I use it, where and where it’s stored.. first two pours went great, but they were single color straight pours.. took less then 2 minutes from the time I stopped stirring. The last 3 however... I am working with small amounts at a time.. around 2 oz.. I mixed it.. moved a little to a cup to add color and within 10 minutes my extra was smoking, bubbling, burning and thickening.. all I had time to do was move it off my workspace and onto the cement before it was solid.. second time it happened while I was pouring so I was pouring out burning sludge onto my mold. 3rd I had split it up into 7 very small amounts and for maybe an extra 10 minutes out of it that way before it started to set. This stuff is too expensive for so much wasted product I can only image doing a large project like it’s designed for and having it all flash cure soo much wasted money. VERY VERY upset. I made enough today for my projects x 3 and got .5 of them out of it..

Great stuff, does work well over fiberglass
Great kit, easy to use. The epoxy worked great on my fiberglass work on my kayak. I used it to build a CLC Chesapeake 17LT.This was my first time using epoxy. One warning, it gets hot enough to burn skin. It started to cure while in the cup I was holding and some got onto my gloved finger. It left a nice burn blister. It didn't dry as slow as I had expected. It started curing sooner than I wanted more than once and I was using the slow hardener.
