I remember that when I would go to the beach and swim around in the water how good my skin felt after being exposed to the sea .
I wish I had known of this product sooner!!! I have a skin condition known as folliculitis- which is basically when the hair follicles have a hard time getting through the skin and tend to become trapped and irritated just under the skin and produces little raised bumps. I remember that when I would go to the beach and swim around in the water how good my skin felt after being exposed to the sea salt. It helped clear up any acne and made my skin feel super soft after showering. This works fantastic for a similar effect. It DOES NOT soap up. You use this after your shower on clean, damp skin and just run the salt bar on your skin. You may feel a very slight burn if you have areas that irritated or open, but it quickly goes away within a minute. It does not leave a grainy residue afterwards- which would be unpleasant in my opinion. I usually will not apply any lotion or moisturizer until I go to bed- simply because that is my normal routine. This does not dry your skin- in fact it seems to help retain the skins natural moisture without any additional product. It is also naturally retards bacteria, so it is very effective for my skin condition since it and kills bacteria and removes dead skin that allows the hair follicles to penetrate the skin without becoming trapped. I would highly recommend this for those with folliculitis or eczema as a natural remedy that really works. I was so excited about this product, that before it arrived I have been using a pink Himalayan salt chunk as my “soap bar” until this one arrived. I have had great results so far, but the bar is far better and smoother to use-leaving no grainy salt feeling. I have tried tons of products for my skin condition (exfolliants, sulfur based soaps, prescription lactic acid creams, etc) and none have works as well as the salt treatment. I look forward to continued use and clearer skin using this treatment, and I will definitely continue this regime. These bar should last a very long time, so it is a great price for months of treatment. I hope my review was helpful.

I like this product for two reasons
I like this product for two reasons. First, I find that popular deodorants are rapidly expendable (they get used up quickly) and rather pricey (this bar cost me $5.29 and today its price has jumped to $7.50!). However, the salt bar lasts for a good couple of years. But second and more importantly, salt is a natural element and hence not particularly toxic. For years I was making my own deodorant (it was cheaper than buying it) by mixing aluminum chlorohydrate and wintergreen alcohol. But then in my 30's I started getting Altzheimer-like episodes where I'd lose track of my thought process, suddenly not understanding whatever I was writing or reading. Scared the holy heck out of me. So I started reading about 20-century toxins and discovered aluminum is not all that healthy, and so I excised aluminum molecules from my life. My wife even complied by stopping cooking in aluminum pots. Now in my mid-70's I've got other issues, but they're related more to the old body starting to wear down. My mind is back and has been for many years. Sorry, that's a long segue from a sodium-chloride deodorant bar, but I like the bar. I should add that my description of my experience is purely anecdotal and unscientific. For all I know, aluminum chlorohydrate may be wonderful and my distrust of it is just irrational bias. Be that as it may, I love the salt-block bar deodorant. It works, has no apparent negative side effects, is relatively inexpensive, and lasts many months.

for deodorant
My husband has been using this salt bar as his deodorant. He says he likes it and it seems to be doing the job just fine. He think towards the end of the day it's effectiveness is wearing off, but by that point it doesn't matter, or he could reapply if necessary. He runs it under water for a bit before applying so it's softer on the skin.Pros: It is natural with no questionable ingredients, it is affordable, it smells fine, it works! It doesn't unnaturally stop sweating like some deodorants/antipersperants, but does stop stink.Cons: Even when soaked with water, it can still feel a bit rough; may have to apply twice a day on extra hot days (not a big deal).

Good, but not what I expected
The salt bar is great but does not look as advertised. It's a different shape entirely and it did not have that beautiful pink color that I have seen with products in stores that sell Himalayan salt; instead it's a ruddy ocher color. The bar works great, but I didn't receive any instruction on how to use it or what to expect with the package. Luckily I had looked it up online prior to buying, so I knew not to rub it around on my skin and cut myself up. Otherwise, I am pleased with the product--it leaves my skin odor free and doesn't dry it out like a lot of synthetic soaps do. Make sure you place it on a soap dish, though, otherwise the salt crusts over your bath tile. Also, a lot of Himalayan soap bars are advertised to be good for massage. NOT this one, this one would be better served for grating cheese then it would for giving some poor soul a massage.

I was still going back to traditional deoderant because it seemed like 50/50 chance the salt would work successfully
Just starting to use natural deodorant options &.this is probably my 4-5th product I have tried. My salt block.is smooth enough to rub directly without cutting. I saw a video stating you only use 1 drop.of water & then rub until its dry. So instead I have been using 1 drop tea tree oil on the salt block & rubbing it back & forth prob 30 sec. It was working okay, but if I was going some place special, I was still going back to traditional deoderant because it seemed like 50/50 chance the salt would work successfully. Yesterday, I used a clay organic cleansing mask on my arm pits. Let me tell you.... it has been an amazing transformation. Over 24 hours after the clay mask treatment & all I have used is a small spritz of witch hazel. So, now that I feel as though my life long impurities have been removed, perhaps the salt block will work better when it really counts. If not, my plan is to use it for overall body cleasing in the shower. My advise if it isnt working for you to try a cleansing mask first. Also note, I tried an overnight cleansing deoderant many times prior to the salt block & it did nothing.
