I ordered this shower stall mat to replace an older one that had worn out. This mat is about the same size as the old one, perhaps an inch smaller. It’s large enough to do the job, though. A key difference about this mat compared with my old one is this mat has a couple hundred bubbles on the surface for mild texture. Each bubble acts like a small suction cup to secure the mat to the shower floor. It slid around when I first put it down until I pushed a few of the bubbles down at each of the margins. It was then secure and did not move around while I stood on it. I selected this mat because it is also machine washable. Water seems to drain well and, unlike the reports of others, it has no smell. I bought the transparent mat, so maybe the colored ones have an odor, but this one does not. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I have a shower "stall" and I couldn't find this color anywhere and it's not easy finding a mat for stall showers as well. I don't think the floor in my shower is perfectly smooth but it still stays in one place. It still isn't laying perfectly flat from being folded in the box but hopefully after a while it will but . . . the color was important to me which overshadows laying perfectly flat!

Ok this shower mat is really pretty and came on time. Those are the only positives. Does not stay stuck on the shower floor, feels like a cheese grater on the feet, and is a fall hazard. I really wanted this to work as I loved the look and that it was black, however it's a nope from me.

The most important feature of this mat is that it really sticks!! It is the perfect size for a shower and it is comfortable. Be sure to follow the directions and wet the bottom of the shower first with warm water. I turn off the water then I position the mat and grab the shower bar and carefully step on it to secure the entire mat. This mat sticks to our fiberglass shower and does not move. Our shower floor is smooth with ridges. The last one out of the shower pulls it up and rinses it off and hangs it to dry.

While this product had awesome suction power, was easy to clean and was comfortable, the off-gassing was terrible. We placed the mat outside for over a week, and when we brought it inside, the smell was still fairly strong. Outside it went again. Brought it back inside and although it was better, we decided to throw it out and my husband purchased another similar product that had no off-gassing at all. I would not recommend this product based upon our experience.

As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a strong, foul, chemical odor emanating from this mat. It’s constructed of vinyl (PVC) and clearly has issues with volatiles (VOCs). I had just received the mat and put in the next room. I could even tolerate it from that distance as it irritated my throat to the point I put it outside. I do not recommend and will be returning.

No slip in fiberglass shower. Has mold(?) growing on it. This is however a problem with our water.When first removed from packaging had a very strong acetone odor. If you are sensitive to this smell it will go away in about 6 to 8 months. I only smelled it when putting it in the shower and taking it out.Not uncomfortable to stand on.

Because of the great reviews, we purchased this needed item for our guest bathroom. The color was spot on and comfortable standing on it. What we couldn't take after a week and a half in the bathroom was the horrible chemical smell. We tried airing it out in the sunshine for one full day and still it gave off such a chemical smell once we brought it back inside. After a week and half it still smells the same as the first day I received it. Returned.

Early days, but appears study, sticks to shower floor well - pleased with the choice I made.

In my master bathroom, there's tile flooring inside the shower. This is EXTREMELY slippery with any little bit of soap, shampoo or conditioner. After the last close call, I decided to move bathrooms until this came in.This mat performs exactly how I expected it to. It can still be slippery with shampoo and such on it, but no where near as bad. This fits almost perfectly inside my shower, with just a little over 2 inches left on each side. The mat does a great job of sticking to the floor even with hot and cold water running on it, so you don't need to worry about the mat slipping from underneath you.Lots of small holes for drainage, so you don't have to worry about standing water, smells or mold.

One thing to note, the center feels different under your feet than the rest due to the hole design, but that's not really an issue. It did have a very heavy plastic smell at first, and I had to flatten it out under a heavy weight due to being folded in the box, but after those minor things were settled ithass stuck to my shower floor and has nearly no remaining smell. Overall it does the job nicely and it'll stay where it is for some time.

I bought this mat after I slipped in the shower and got a few bruises and bangs. I think I am not the only one. The mat works. It sticks to the floor of the shower, after I made sure the floor was wet and walked around stomping down the suction cups. Showering is much more relaxing now! As well, water from the shower and soap drain away satisfactorily. The one complaint I have is its' size. I would have appreciated a larger square, but the 21" by 21" size seems pretty standard. The price was very reasonable.

Does it help with grip? Definitely! It's very nice and sticks well to the bottom of our shower.My only concern with it is how quickly it becomes smelly. We knew we would have to clean it every once and a while, since it would obviously trap dirty water, hair, etc. underneath it, but we didn't realize how often that would really be. We are probably washing it once a week at the very least (and it's not like we're super dirty or messy people) 😂Not a big deal, because it is easy to clean. Just a bit of a hassle that we weren't expecting. Still a good buy, though!
