5MC-25PK 5 Micron 10-Inch carbon Block Water Filter Cartridge Coconut Shell Activated Carbon, 25-Pack

I purchased a case of these 10" whole-house 5-Micro Coconut Shell Activated Carbon water filters from Ronaqua in January in anticipation of my upgrading the water system in my house. Unfortunately, at that time I was too busy to complete the work. I finally completed the job in late May, much to the wifes' delight. My (overdue) installed upgrades include a couple of whole house filters installed in series (and replacing of all the downstream homes supply lines). The first inline filter is a 5-micron poly spun spun poly (pre-filter) to remove any particulate mater and/or rust (this also makes the A/C filter last longer) The second is the 5-micron coconut shell activated carbon filter which completely eliminates any trace of taste from the chlorine the Village uses in the State mandated disinfection process they employ. We reside in one of the many smaller communities which was once a housing hub for the many iron mining interests which dotted the landscape of the U.P. of Michigan. The Village maintains a municipal water system (certified by both State & Local authorities). This community was incorporated in the early part of the last century and has (to say the least) an antiquated water supply system. While there were upgrades over the years, (as with many other older communities) more needs doing. That being said, much of the water supply to individual homes is fed thru older iron piping. The Municipal well water is as necessary, disinfected with (modulating) concentrations of chlorine. At times, it tastes (and smells) just awfull. The now installed pre-filter removes the majority of the rust and/or particulate matter from the supply piping and the secondary Ronaqua activated carbon filter has done the rest!! The water at all taps tastes great and the fixture staining has been eliminated.THANK-YOU RONAQUA!! We now have exceptional water quality. I can drink the water again (& the ice cubes taste fantastic).JUST ONE NOTATION: IF you install Activated Carbon water filters, REMEMBER TO: Thoroughly FLUSH the filters to a drain for a MINIMUM of 5-10 minutes "BEFORE" opening the line valve (past the filters) supplying your house! This proceedure removes the Activated Carbon filters "ultra fine" particles which may be present from both the Manufacturing processes and normal Shipping/Handling.Adaquate flushing of any Activated Carbon filters "HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MUST". Now that I am changing out all the filters myself, I don’t need to pay the installer. I’m sure the carbon block filter prices quoted on the receipt are much more than what I just paid. And with 25 filters, I can easily change them earlier than 6 months, it at all needed. I should get another pack because I have twice as many sediment filters.

Quick delivery and well packaged. These filters appear to be very good quality at a good price compared to other filters I've tried in the past. I haven't needed to change the filters in my system yet but I don't imagine any problems when these filters are installed. If any problems do arise, I will post a follow up.

This is our second case of filters. They are impressive, considering we use them to assist with rust removal from our home rural water well.

Everyone wants a review 5 minutes after you receive the product.... I installed these charcoal yesterday and they fit fine and look good ..... well see if there is any issues down the road but i wouldn't think so.
