Earth, Air, Fire & Water: More Techniques of Natural Magic (Llewellyn's Practical Magick Series) Review: An Excellent Complement to “Earth Magic” - Scott Cunningham’s “Earth, Air, Fire & Water: More Techniques of Natural Magic” was written to complement his earlier book, “Earth Magic.” His goal is not to just provide more information, but to empower others to utilize all of the elements, and he does this by showing readers that they can take charge of their own spirituality—namely by creating their own spells. Cunningham reveals how readers can take charge of their own spirituality by revealing how all five elements—earth, air, fire, water, and akasha—can be utilized to make positive changes in their own lives through the use of visualization. This was an excellent book and one that does indeed complement his earlier book. Cunningham really guides readers so that they fully understand the reasons behind the practices so that they can utilize it in everyday praxis. In this book, the author shows how natural magic really is a lifestyle choice that permits its users to not only actively engage with the universe, but also ensures that practitioners are inculcated with the importance of self-responsibility. Review: Must own - Earth, Air Fire and Water is a must have if you are into esoteric side of spirituality/witchcraft. In the 30+ years I have been a practicing pagan, I have had many copies of this book and I never seem to be surprised by something in this book and the ways it helps one think about the natural world within their spirituality and geeater connection to the world around on all levels.

A Cunningham Essential
When I first began to study witchcraft, I picked up 2 books. One book left a strange taste in my mouth because of the negativity toward other religions and the cocky attitude of the author in general. Then I read Cunningham's Earth, Air, Fire & Water. I was instantly enchanted and felt I had found the home I sought. His writing is timeless, still easy to relate to and encouraging throughout. I love how simply he teaches his philosophies and the organization of the book in general. The book is organized by elements, with special magic (ocean, for example) added in their own categories after the behest of readers of his first elemental work. Part of what makes Cunningham accessible is how easy to understand his instructions are even for beginners and how easily applied each spell is to various pagans and witches no matter what tradition (or lack thereof) they follow. For example, a simple Earth spell for financial prosperity that involves a green candle is one that I've adapted and used for 5 years now. In short, this Cunningham work is an essential to own for witchcraft users.

Scott delivers again
As a huge fan of every book of Scott Cunningham's I have ever read I had no hesitance in buying this book before having read it. It is fantastic and gives a lot of great spell work that can be done cheaply (which is great when you're like me and on a budget!). I loved this book and as usual - enjoyed Scott's laid back writing style which is informative, not boring, and is much like sitting with a beloved uncle and having a conversation. I look forward to working with the different spells and such suggested in this book. So happy to have this added to my ever growing library!

Beautiful, Gentle, Positive, Useful, Lovely
I miss Scott Cunningham. RIP you gentle, positive man. This is one of my very favorite of his books. If you are interested in natural magic, or the spirituality inherent in the world around you, you will love this book. There is nothing "dark" or negative in any of Scott Cunningham's books, nor does he tell you exactly what you "should" do. Indeed, he provides a lot of information in a completely organized way, and then encourages your own intuition and knowledge. It's set up well for beginners, but just about everyone would benefit from his books. I don't care for the books written in his name after his death very much, but this, and several others are simply gems. It's well organized as well, with useful ideas. Enjoy it. I would also recommend this, and other Cunningham books, for parents who want to encourage their curious teens into the positive side of "magic" where "do no harm" is explained WELL, and negative actions are shown to be just what they are, as harmful to the one acting, as the one acted upon.

Another great find!
Another very informative, packed to the gills book from Scott Cunnigham. A great reference book for the beginner pagan. I use this in combination with other books to help me along the way. I just lover his writing style. He keeps you interested and wanting to read further, whereas a lot of other Wiccan books seem to drone on and I find myself skipping around from chapter to chapter and just using them when I need a reference point. With Scott Cunningham books I tend to read cover to cover and refer back to them all the time.

Great for Basics
Great for beginners ... if you don't mind the very flowery, poetic, somewhat trite incantations. They tend to read like bad middle school poetry, and I started skipping them early on.

I love the way Scott Cunningham writes. I have practised natural magick for for quite a few years and after a while it becomes really hard to find information out there that you have not come across before. There are a few diamonds in here. ;) This book is lovely, as even though there is info in it that is readily available and probably been read many times before, Scott Cunningham breathes new life into it, and brings about to the reader a new perspective in which we perceive what we already know and feel. Some good information about personal power, and some well written short spells. Detailed chapters that are easy to loose yourself in thoughts and questions within that he sparks with his words. Being drawn to the seashore, I have worked on the shoreline many times using magick and ritual, but rarely have I come across books on anything seawitch related. This book has it's own chapter all about sea magick! (amongst many many other things) Even if you have had many years walking the path of natural magick, I would recommend this book. Lots of information for Witches, oldskool and newbies alike, I'm sure there is something for everyone.

Most people are of the opinion that magic is a supernatural act. But looking at it closely, one discovers magic or the so called miracle is nothing but the application of natural laws. Hence Earth, Air, Fire & Water which are themselves natural elements are only secondary to the act of true magic which is the mind of man. A beautiful read especially regarding the powers of the natural elements.
