ARCTIC FOX Vegan and Cruelty-Free Semi-Permanent Hair Color Dye (8 Fl Oz, PURPLE AF)

I have no idea how or why this happened to my hair, but this might be the blackest darkest black I have ever tried! I started off with FIRE RED hair, I dyed a dark brown permanent box dye over it which left it to be a dark wine red as in picture 1. I dyed it several times and couldn’t get the red out! I finally decided to embrace the goth in me and just dye it black.As you can see my hair is very damaged from past procedures it has endured. So I needed a good, a green/blue black semi-permanent hair dye. And after going through hours and hours of reviews on Amazon, I found that this black dye had green and blue undertones.BEWARE it stains.My big head couldn’t wait 10 more days to return home to dye my hair, cause i was sick of the red! And that resulted in me trying to dye my hair at the house of a friends I was staying with at that time. Now, my friends bathroom is WHITE. Everything from the towels, to the tiles, the walls and the counter tops is WHITE. I thought i was about to drop $100K to fix the whole bathroom after my dye project. To get it out of the toilet seat, marble countertops, wood cupboards and floor tiles and bath-tub I followed these steps, first dry wipe with toilet paper, spray bleach, let it sit, dry wipe, rubbing alcohol + cetaphil face wash (i thought the mix of the acidic and basic elements would help?), let it sit and then wipe with baby wipe. And for some reason the rubbing alcohol really helped with getting the stains out!Pic 2, after dye in the sunshine. Pic 3 is after 3rd wash, in the sun, still no red. Pic 4 wash 4. Pic 5 wash 5. It didn’t fade! Idk why, because each time I wash it, the water still comes out DARK. I also stain my hand or forehead in my sleep from sweat. But it comes out. The bathroom is fine, though when my hair shed, it would leave a green/blue mark if it was wet so I had to be careful to wipe it asap. My hair is still BLACK BLACK, I am amazed. I left the dye in my hair for an hour, I always wash with semi-warm water. I’ve been using the sandwich method while washing, conditioner - shampoo - conditioner. Maybe that helped it not fade? And sulphate free shampoo too! I didn’t wash my hair for 2-3 days after I dyed it for the first time to ensure it stuck in my hair follicles.THIS IS THE BEST BLACK DYE, NO RED SHINE, PURE BLACK.

I have purchased Arctic Fox a bajillion times, lol. I usually stick with pinks, purples, and reds to color over my salt and pepper hair. Virgin Pink is one of my essential colors, but even combined with another color in those families, it typically fades out to a baby pink or lavender.I have no idea if I am an anomaly, but I have always had great luck with Arctic Fox covering my greys. I do not bleach out my hair, and it still covers well. The only issue I have had is that the color does tend to quickly fade at my roots; before I started growing out a side shave, there was no point in dying it before the color would last a day or two. I have been using fantasy colors for 30 years (off and on), and AF works great for being pigmented, fading out nicely, and not really staining. In my experience, the staining mostly occurs if you did not get everything washed out fully. (I always miss a spot or two along my hair line.)I have used AF on bleached hair (both virgin bleached and bleached over box dye) and have never had a problem with it coming out right.If you are concerned about staining, cut your dye with some conditioner and that should help a lot. If you concerned about fading, wash your hair less and wash it under the coldest water you could stand. If it’s too intense, and you want it to fade faster, use dandruff shampoo. I’ve included pics of what my hair looked like before dying and what it looked like freshly dyed using a combo of Electric paradise and Virgin Pink.

After my colorist scolded me for using permanent dyes and had to fix it I switched over to arctic fox so I can switch up my hair color without damage. This smells nice, and on a red base it’s lasted a super long time. It does bleed after first application and you need to rinse with cold water. Stains your bathtub. But the color is pretty sweet and it smells good so I’m all good with it. Arctic fox is the perfect brand for people who want to switch up their hair color more frequently. My hairstylist used it on me when I actually had the money to get my hair done and I’ve never gone back.Side note, on blonde this will turn blue. You need a red filler color unless you’re okay with teal. Just something to keep in mind.

Good colors! My natural hair color is black so i have to bleach for any colors to take. For a bleach between blonde to ice blonde, i got a pretty nice seagreen shaded blue for reference. And the dye smell doesn’t linger or make me nauseous

I mixed this with XMONDO Super blue. Came out some neat colors and they both smell amazing. It didn't last very long but you can't really expect a semi- permanent dye to last like permanent dye. Leaves your hair silky, shiny and volumous. Plus, leaves a nice fragrance! I've been dying my hair since I was like, 9 years old. First used manic panic but now I just like Xmondo's 5min topper or Arctic fox colors. If I had $20, I'd definitely grab an Arctic fox color right now. I recommend these brands for those who, like me, dye their hair(changing colors) frequently. Both brands mentioned have conditioning properties in it and idk about Arctic fox brand, but I know XMONDO also has bonding stuff in it to heal your damaged hair while changing up your color. Great stuff guys. Worth the price.
