I was sure this was not going to be easy!
I had replaced the carb but all the videos on YouTube had the linkage wrong.Wrong holes in both the butterfly valve and the governor.I knew something was wrong because it was running way too fast.Despite replacing the carb only takes 20 minutes I tried for an hour to get them correctly positioned without just taking is off and in the process stretched the old spring.This time I use the smallest needle nose vice grips to hold the linkage in place and tiny needle nose pliers to gently put spring in place.Took 5 minutes.

When you need this specific spring, nothing else will do... this one seems to meet the specs perfectly. While not under the seller’s control, the Amazon Prime shipping was extremely slow... took a week to arrive.

Mower runs great now
I installed this spring on my old Craftsman 6.0 HP lawnmower, and the mower runs perfectly now. Just the right speed, steady and even.

Sometimes the smallest part is the most important.
It is just a governer spring, but after destroying the original I had to "spring" for it. Perfect fit at a reasonable price
