Unbelievable Speakers for an Awesome Price
I purchased these speakers about a month and a half ago and all I can say is wow. I do not use them for DJing, only for private listening. I am using Podiums recommended amp which is there own. Its the vx 2000 and the combo works well cause I will never have to worry about being under powered for what the speakers require at higher volumes. I personally have only had the volume up to about 5 but its much louder than needed long before that. Up to this point I have had no complaints with them. Definitely a great buy for the price. I would recommend these to anyone whose in the market. Keep in mind that you will need an amp or receiver to power them.

good and evil
I bought this for my boys band. (They are AWESOME! by the way) Thought the price was right for their use. They play lots of friend's parties and bought these for the start of the "graduation party tour". First gig - we smelled something burning! The plastic jack cover, in the back, MELTED on the first use. Wiring must be defective, I guess? Not plugging in again for fear of a full blown electrical fire. Have not had for 2 weeks and they turned to trash on the first use. Waiting to hear from the seller as to replacement. Not hopeful.... will update review when more info is available. For the 30 minutes they lasted the sound was really good! Just hoped to get more than a sound check outta them!

THE SPEAKERS BLEW OUT THE FIRST TIME I USED THEM
I used these speakers for about 30 minutes before it blew out. Sure it was great during that 30 minutes but it was a pain in the ass after that since it's difficult to ship out. I guess you can't expect too much from speakers that cost less than 200$ They didn't even give me a full refund WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Great Speakers But Did Get One With A Defect
Based on the initial comments from previous customers, I decided to purchase two pairs of these speakers for a modest event or two I have planned later this year. To my delight, the shipment came in sooner than expected. After unpacking the two pairs I tested them with the GTD-Audio 9100 powered pre-amp that I also purchased and additional audio cabling. Every thing sounded great and the speakers were loud and clear, performed well and I thought the workmanship excellent for the price, initially. I put everything aside for a week and then decided to test them again in a different configuration after mulling over the temptation to order another two pairs. This is when I discovered a pea-sized hole in one of the 12" woofer cones, which was obscured by the safety grill. Upon closer inspection, the hole appeared to be a defect during manufacture and not one caused by careless handling or delivery.Since I was impressed and enamered by the over all quality of the Pro Audio Monitor 1200C speaker sets and ignorant as to how to go about remedying this matter since only one-half of one of the pairs was actually defective, I decided to email the seller (OnlyFactoryDirect) with an explanation of the problem and asked for advice. I received an email response with an apology within the week with a free shipping label to aid in my return and subsequent exchange of the defective product.Needless to say, I am impressed by the performance and the quality of the majority of the merchandise I ordered and OnlyFactoryDirect for its promptness and eagerness to correct a problem with one of its products.A WORD OF ADVICE: Replace the factory 1 3/8" top hat mount at the bottom of the speaker boxes with metal ones. These are fairly inexpensive and can be found here at the Amazon site. The plastic ones that come with the units can break easily and offer resistance to mounting on an adjustable pole stand when new making it difficult to determine if the speaker box is fully seated. The metal ones slide right in and are much easier to unmount too, especially if you're setting up and breaking down the assembly by yourself!

These are okay for Karaoke however...
I purchased these a short time ago to use in my DJ/KJ setup I was lacking in the highs and mids which these work great for. Don't expect too much bass from these speakers and sometimes the highs overpower the lows. I did not like the small gauge wiring to the speakers so I replaced the wiring to match what I run in my setup which is 14AWG. The wiring that comes on these is around 20AWG by changing the wire gauge it helped the overall sound of the cabinets as more power gets to them without distortion. I did disconnect the horns because they were too loud and just ran the 12's and 4" that is in the cabinet. This cleared up the sound quality much more than before, I am running about 500/speaker cabinet which works very well.Pros: Low cost, good construction of the cabinets, wiring is soldered to the speaker instead of clipped on, cabinets are light weight.Cons: speaker connections for the 1/4" phono plug is very weak and the cable will come out during use. (easily resolved) make your own cable or buy onethat has a longer 1/4" plug or replace the plugs with just wire ends to the spring terminals.Overall: Good product for the cost will work on PA/AMP's that are 200 watts and up with no problems I would buy another set or two when the need arises.

Simply amazing
Crystal clear sound and definitely worth the money. Currently debating buying another set. Arrived in perfect condition with no loose screws, plates, etc. Kinda scared to push these things to the max since its blasting the entire house on a relatively LOW setting. Used with the Pyle Pro PTA1000 1000 Watt DJ Amplifier and I cannot tolerate the sound levels past the +6 DB levels. These things are REALLY loud.Would give it a 4.5 star rating since I am unwilling to push these things to the max. Definitely worth the money.
