Good Filters
We have a 430' deep well. We still get a lot of very fine sediment. I've been using this same filter brand for 4 years. I change it the first of every month and by that time a filter is very "brown" and water pressure begins to drop in the shower. Out of curiosity I have cut some used filters intwo with a saw and the discoloration goes all the way through the filter. These are 1 micron, so they trap MORE sediment than a 5 or 10 micron filter. Some reviewers have complained of needing more frequent changing. That is an off-shoot of using a 1-micron cartridge. Higher filtration, more dirt captured, more frequent changing needed but less dirt in our house water. What is more important, long life of filter or less dirt in your water? When the filter is "new" we have plenty of water pressure in our house from a 50psi cut out and 30psi cut in pump pressure regulator. Faucet pressure only begins to drop when the filter has trapped a lot of dirt. Our very expensive refrigerator filter ($50+ each) for the ice maker/drinking water rarely needs changing with the 1 micron filter immediately after the well tank`` which totally offsets the slight difference in increased cost of a 1 micron filter.

Serious filtration
I bought these 1 micron filters for an inline filtration system for a water changes for my tropical fish room. I was skeptical of the claim of true 1 micron filtration but I had been experiencing water quality issues with my well water, which is piped into the house through a 5 micron filter. While I am no scientist and have no way to verify it is truly filtering everything in the water column above 1 micron, I believe it is doing so. The PH (using API Master Water Test kit) is 7.6 when tested straight from the tap from the 5 micron filter, but tests at 6.2 when run through the 1 micron filter - so it is definitely filtering out contaminates in the water.GH is 40ppm with both the 5 micron and 1 micron filter. Also, issues I was having with my delicate tropical fish have been eliminated.

Good price and 1 micron
I use these on my RO systems for both drinking and also aquarium use. I have not had issues or problems with these 1 micron sediment filters. I usually go with either the 1 micron or 5 micron if I cannot find the 1s.My outer bag states 1 micron and the individual filters also have a 1 micron label and I purchased mine direct from Amazon. As far as I know, even though filters state a "level" of filtration, like 1 micron or 5 or 10, it's an average not an absolute. Please let me know if my review have been helpful to you, it will encourage me to continue writing and updating my reviews, and leave a comment if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer if I can be of help.

Good for Giardia in our experience
We drink water from our cistern (water collected from roof gutters, in the tropics, not USA). We filter the water we drink using these filters. If we drink unfiltered water, we are likely to contract Giardia, but with these filters we never have that problem. When we notice off-taste in the water, we change the filter - but that is infrequent in our case because of the great clarification that happens in the cistern. For us, filter life is about 9 - 12 months.

Only Last two months
These filters, fit fine, and are easy to install. Unlike other filters I have used they appear to be made out of tightly wrapped paper and that is where the issue is. When first installed they work great, after being saturated for a month or so, the filters start to leak sediment. What used to be clear water turns in to cloudy tan water. The filters let sediment by and have to be replaced. So they work but do not last nearly as long as others I have used.

Very good filtration, realized how much 10 micron misses
After 200 gallons through it on city water, it's the color of a Manila envelope, after water passed through a 10 micron spun filter. Pressure and flow are not reduced for 1/4" noticeably, hopefully the carbon won't get clogged so quickly now I expect it to be much better than a 10 micron alone just from the color due to blocked impurities.

More pressure with smaller filter?
I purchased these and I normally use a 5 micron filter for my system. These definitely had a different “feel” to them. I think I had more pressure in my system pre filter and didn’t want to risk damage so went back to my 5 micron filter.

Great filter and price for a one micron type
I use as a sediment filter prior to a UV light treatment and they work very well. The UV requires a five micron or less to work safely. The flow rate is good enough even at one micron on these. They need to be changed a bit more often but not a problem with the lake water that I filter. I did receive one micron as I ordered. I read in other reviews that some people got fives instead.
