Loom Bands Refills - 600 Count - METALLIC ASSORTED (with S clips)

These bands come in really strange colors. They are metallic, yes, but the color choices are just so weird! At first I was disappointed because I figured my daughter would think they are ugly. Most of the colors are dark and just kind of, for lack of a better word, off. However, I grew to like them when I saw her making bracelets with them that were more unusual. The dark colors actually look really nice next to the neons and other brights colors she has.She made a nice bracelet with the pink and the dark purple metallics mixed with her brighter colored bands and it looks great. I think they are worth it for the variety they bring to the table. Definitely do not just purchase this pack of bands alone. A bracelet made with a combination of these colors would be pretty ugly IMO. But if you have a nice collection of other colors to work with, they will add nice contrast to your bracelets. Neon and pastel colors can get boring quick and these help to spice up her creations.

To be clear, there are no gold or silver bands in this pack. There are purple, green, red, pink, blue, yellow, and red bands. They are mostly dark jewel-like tones with a sheen. The pink and yellow ones are brighter. My young daughters liked them from the most part, though the green was a very dark khaki color and they hated those. They prefer the bright rainbow colored bands. That being said, I personally like them and I can see older kids and boys liking the colors. I did not have any issues with the bands breaking and only found one that was on the thin side.

I ordered these for a ten year old, and they did the trick. She was immediately on the Internet learning how to use the loom that I also bought, and has been very happy overall with these bands (which do a pretty good job for non-latex elastic of looking more-or-less metallic). Your ten year old will like them too, I expect!

These bands are not metallic , but have a kind of pearly sheen to them. They are great to mix and match with other bands for a bit of 'spice'. The colors are very attractive. So far I have made 1 project on a loom using these bands and they did not break or stretch out excessively.A few of the bands (not many) are too stuck together to use. I may buy them again but they should be labeled 'pearl' not metallic.

From my daughter:I bought these to make rubber band bracelets for myself and friends. I got these because they have very nice and unique metallic colors. The actual rubber band colors are same as in the pictures. The quality of rubber is very good when compared with original bands that came with Rainbow Loom. However, there are not too many colors and they run out easily after making about 10 bracelets.

So these are supposed to be metallic bands. I think I thought they'd be more of a solid metallic color, but they are more like a jelly band that is slightly metallic. Despite them being not exactly as I thought they'd be they are still great bands. Seem like a decent quality band and they are different looking. A couple of my daughter's friends commented that they would like them. I would recommend these bands for your child's collection.

As other reviewers have stated- weird colors, not quite metallic. Perhaps the colors would look better sorted, because they don't go well together at all.As far as the less than metallic look- I would say the colors have more of a shine in the way tiger's eye (the stone) looks more so than metallic....Also, they feel more stiff than the Rainbow loom bands. They are a gift for my daughter and haven't been used yet, but just by looking at and feeling them, the quality is definitely different. The other reviews are pretty on par, and while not awful I would personally not buy these again.
