Boston Harbor ATB-8004 Piano Desk Lamp, Satin Nickel

I needed a piano lamp and wanted something that looked classic. I really wanted to find something with a dark brown or even black finish, but couldn't afford to spend $150 or more on a LAMP! I was completely disappointed to find how expensive so many lamps of this style are and because of that, was then skeptical when I saw this for $28. I figured it was worth a shot and ordered it.It arrived quickly and needs no assembly. It doesn't come with a light bulb which was no surprise, but I ordered a T10 4W LED bulb from Amazon as well. With that installed it gives bright warm light and is adjustable for various reaches. Some people gave it poor marks because it is "tippy". I found it's not tippy whatsoever. It has a nice stable base and has no problems providing more than ample light. If you set the base in one location and then pivot the whole assembly as far as it will reach at 90-degrees right at the pivot closest to the base, then yes, it'll tip. If you use it like a normal lamp without trying to make it reach 12 inches to the front of the base, you're not going to have any worries.For $28 I'm very pleased. The silver satin color is attractive and the whole assembly looks clean and neat. Great bargain!

it’s 2024 & I’m still (always) using it, base and knob stable, light is warm and not harsh to eyes, and the finish still looks the same as when I bought it in 2017. I don’t think I’ll be replacing for a looong time.

Love the look and function, base could be a little heavier as I saw on another review, (but it is not light either) only when fully extended to point down to light up a painting etc, I used mine on top of a homemade grandfather clock, sturdy enough not to fall but on the edge, I secured the electric wire in back to be safe, base is heavy enough for all other positions and the light works perfectly and can adjust easily into many positions that could be wanted, perfect of course for a desk, my wife bought one for her desk after seeing. Bulb not included, I put a T10 Led in.

Good lamp. Looks great. It is a REAL bargain, priced much lower than other lamps of comparable quality and appearance. I purchased an LED "corn cob" light bulb from another website and it really lights up the piano music. My only negative, like other reviewers have pointed out, is that the lamp base is not heavy enough to counterbalance the top of lamp if it is extended down too much. This MUST be taken into account when setting the lamp up on the piano or it will tump over and scratch up your beautiful furniture. I am still pleased with my purchase and would have made the same purchase all over again, but I wish lamp base was heavier.

I had searched for quite some time for a nice light for my piano. Most were far too expensive for my simple used piano. I wanted something simple yet elegant. Functional, affordable and stylish this lamp is perfect. It is very easy to adjust and is perfect for lighting my music.Other reviewers claiming it is top heavy are surely tipping it forward more than is necessary because for the price I find this lamp to be very solid and well made. It is a simple design that blends with mist any decor.

Right out of the box, this product was not bad at all. Using it for a pipe organ in a Seminary chapel - and it fit the bill perfectly. No problems with the stand, with it staying upright...two adjustment areas allows you to place where it needs to be. Isn't tipsy at all. All the parts were there and the lightbulbs ordered with it worked just fine. Other reviewers may have received a bad light...or were looking for a higher quality than the price warranted.

Awesome lamp. This is supposed to sit behind a sheet music rest on a piano. IT IS A PIANO LAMP. In order to do this you need to raise the shade to its highest point so it clears the music rest. This balances the entire lamp. It's not designed to be tilted almost at a 90 degree angle. For sure it would tip over. All the hype about tipping over is crazy. If it is used for what it was designed for, it will not tip over. This is a piano lamp and designed as such. My only complaint was with the switch knob. It is not straight and extends from the switch at a slight angle. This could be due to how it was packaged and am not sure if this is even a defect.

I looked at many of the reviews from others who bought this piano lamp and was skeptical at first; however, when I began using it, I am very happy I ordered it. Its base is not as heavy duty as a lamp that costs over $70, but it is sufficient enough to keep the lamp upright, and I love the on/off switch which is on the side of the lamp shade and easy to use. I do not have to hold the hot lamp shade in order to turn it on and off. The satin nickel finish looks very nice against a light or dark piano finish. I ordered a GE 40-Watt tubular, soft white light bulb which is easy to screw on. I unpacked the lamp from the box, put in the bulb and was using it immediately. This is a great buy for the money.
