An unknown rises to the top!
This figure looks amazing: it's a step up from recent past transformers in the WFC line: they do an excellent job at hiding holes and hollowness, yet the figure looks like it fits right in with the rest of them: Skids looks great next to Legacy Silverstreak and Earthrise Bluestreak: same height, same esthetic. The Play value is top notch: wonderful articulation and 3 weapons that can attach together or be used seperately with several holes spread over the body as attachment points. Skids even has a gun blade. This is a step up from the deluxe classes of the last several years of the wfc lines as many bots had few accessories. My daughter loves play with these in robot form so that's what the review is about and she likes it thus far.I'll update as the kiddos and I play more with SkidsLegacy Skids is a step up from G1 Skids. Legacy is a wonderful homage and then some: Legacy is taller bulkier and more solid.Legacy Skids is also the last of the Deluxe scale cars to come out in the last few years (not counting mini-bots). With Skids: I finally have the G1 Autobot "larger" cars complete and what a way to end, on a bang!Phenomenal job Hasbro.Highly recommended!

He came in a box so his beautiful, ethereal, and gorgeous packaging was shielded from the terrors of damage. Which is great, because Skids was one of the most important characters in the series. He appeared in nearly every episode in the first 2 seasons, and made a tragic and heroic sacrifice by getting killed by the Sweeps in the movie. He even returned for season 3, in the episodes “Skids’ Apparition” and “Phantom in the Electronic Contraption”. One standout moment was in “Auto Bop”, where after Blaster was knocked out by Soundwave, and Tracks was chasing Starscream in the skies, a missed blast from Starscream landed near Skids and sent him soaring. He landed on rubble, flattened his tires, and dented his vehicle, but was knocked up to the air again and skidded into a Decepticon nightclub that Blaster and Soundwave were fighting in, driving into the main sound system and crashed into it, with both him and the sound system exploding to pieces. He was fortunately restored to life, but since he was melted by lasers in the movie it didn’t last long. But his spark prevailed using the power of friendship, and it was inserted into the Matrix to defeat Unicron before his return in the two season 3 episodes. Truly a Skids moment.

Good.
Has good articulation and is nice and bulky. Unfortunately the transformation is slightly annoying.

The Perfect Update to a Favorite Character
I’ve been looking forward to Skids for a while and was not disappointed. This is the perfect update to one of my favorite Transformers. He has great sculpting, articulation, colors, and accessories. His transformation is straight forward and fun. The three weapons he comes with can combine in a number of ways to make him a well-armed theoretician. If I have anything negative to say about Skids it would be the price. But, that’s today’s cost of goods and shipping and not any fault on the figure.Skids is a great addition to my collection and I think any Transformers fan will enjoy him.

Rare character on the TV series.
Skids is one of those characters that barely had screen time on TV. He was seen only in two episodes of season 2 Transformers: Quest for Survival and Triple Takeover. Skids is one of those obscure characters that didn't get a lot of character development. He does have more to say and do in the various comics. The toy, itself, is a little hard to transform from robot back to vehicle. The roof of the vehicle tends to not hold firmly and looks slightly open. Hasbro eventually released several molds of the same figure: Burnout, Medic, Crosscut, and Crank Case. They all have the same quality problems.Skids comes with three weapons: Two guns and one plastic translucent blade. The guns look great on skids, but not the blade.Skids, like many figures, are hard to find because of scalpers and collectors who grab the toys off the shelves, and then sell them for rip-off prices. I bought mine under twenty dollars. This would be hard for little kids to play with. It took me a while to change it from robot to vehicle. I had to watch some YouTube videos for the instructions. The paper manual, like many Transformers toys, sometimes, tends to be a little confusing. I miss the old days, when toys could easily turn from robot to vehicle and back. While I like having the Skids toy, I wouldn't buy it again. Hasbro will eventually make a new mold of these toys, like they always do. Hopefully, they'll make a better skids toy, that's easy to transform, without the quality issues.
