Essential Protection for Your Devices!
I recently started using the PortaPow USB Power Blocker with my micro USB cable for my 3D printer, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer!This little gadget does an excellent job of preventing my printer from pulling too much power from my sonic pad, which could potentially damage it. It stops charging while still allowing data transfer, ensuring that my devices stay safe and sound.Installation was a breeze - I simply plugged it in between my printer and the sonic pad, and it started working right away. Plus, it's super compact, so it doesn't take up much space.Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with the PortaPow USB Power Blocker. It's a simple yet effective solution that gives me peace of mind knowing that my devices are protected. Five stars from me!

Perfectly adequate to my needs
I have purchased a twin pack of PortaPow blockers because I needed to connect an old, self-powered, device to my PC with a USB-A to USB-A cable and couldn't afford the risk of short-circuiting anything. I could modify the cables, but I'm not very good with that kind of skill. Fortunately I've found these on Amazon. I've been told that using a single blocker on the cable would be enough, but it works fine with both too. Data goes through flawlessly while power stays put.Just clarifying for those in doubt: this product is meant to block power, not data transfers! If you're looking for a data blocker, I believe the same company also provides those, but this isn't the same thing.

Great for connecting my Ender 3 to a Pi running OctoPrint!
I always disliked having my Pi Zero 2 W backpower my Ender 3 when I had turned the printer off, and this solved that issue quick and easy. Same deal with a 3018 Pro CNC. It’s a simple fix and probably wildly overpriced for what it is, but no fuss and it just works!

Keeps Rpi from powering my 3d printer board via usb.
Works as expected, larger than it looks online.Keeps Rpi from powering my 3d printer board via usb.Initially I tried tape on the usb power pin but it was not reliable.

Does the job.
These do the job of blocking the 5v power pin so just data can flow. They are very sturdy but are just big enough that you can't use two of then in a double stacked usb port.

Power blockers!
Remember, these block POWER, not DATA. I'm using it for my CNC and 3D printer to block power from my PC because the controller boards have external power input. If you want to block DATA, they have those too... it's just not these ones.

Great for klipper/3D printing
Great for a 3D printer hooked to a klipper pad. Hot end fan would stay running after printer was shut off on a Ender 3 but this fixed the issue.

TTL/USB Woes Resolved!
Do you have a TTLUSB cable coming off a device which is backfeeding power to your Raspberry Pi 4 and preventing the little computer from booting up because the USB bus is unhappy about that trickle of power coming in? Fret no more! This dead simple device (use male to female on a PCB which is just missing a trace!) will break that backfed power and let you boot up properly.
