Android auto disconnects too often to use
I really like this unit- for the price I wasn't expecting anything super crazy but I am disappointed that the android auto keeps disconnecting and wigging out the unit. I just use Bluetooth audio/calling and it gets the job done. My husband installed this with the backup camera in my 2009 forester in an afternoon. I also like that on startup you can change the logo to match your car make

Very impressive for the price but some minor cons
Looks good sounds good and the apple carplay and android auto work great too however compared to my other vehicles factory android auto this one doesn't tell you turns when on a phone call or even indicate you have one coming up. Carplay at least dings to tell you. My other vehicles radio still announces even when on a phone call. Not major issue but the biggest issue I think is the screen is very washed out on the map view because the radio brightness is too high which is of course an easy fix in the menu if you swipe over to the gear icon. However when you shut the radio off it will not save that setting and must be turned down every time you want to be able to see the map clearly. Overall still impressive for a $100 radio

Sounds great, instructions lacking, feature rich
When I first got this, the size (double DIN) was off a bit and the instructions mentioned nothing about the reverse camera wire (its pink on the radio harness, tie this to red cable on video cable). Since I already had the harness wired I decided to give it a try inside the car, and I was so impressed by the sound and the apple carplay that I decided to make it work with my aftermarket bezel. All I had to do is set the radio back a bit and not push through the faceplate and it worked out well. The camera itself is lacking but functional, the carplay makes this one a winner.

Surprisingly easy to install - CarPlay works great - 2003 CR-V
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this as I never installed a radio before - I was surprised how easy this was. A few learnings:1). Wiring - directions were a little unclear on a couple of the wires. Example ‘Brake’ - this wire is intended to be wired to the emergency brake so that you can’t watch videos on the screen unless the brake is on. I couldn’t find the brake wire in my car - but I just connected the brake wire from the new units wiring harness to the ground wire and it works fine (it will just play videos while driving which isn’t a good idea). There were a couple of other wires that were not applicable for my car including ‘power antenna’, illuminating, etc…. I just left those out. Also - connecting the wiring harness into my existing wiring was very easy with simply crimp connectors - the existing wires were easy to map on the internet.2). Mounting - on the CRV - this unit fit perfect in the existing radio slot. I did have a mounting bracket from our existing after-market radio that I was able to use with this new unit. If you don't have that - order a mounting bracket.3). Camera - I didn’t bother with the rear camera - to install that I would have needed to remove all the trim off the back gate of the car and then wirier it into the reverse light (which would have required removing the rear light assembly and finding the correct wires. This would have been a ‘nice to have’ accessory - but it wasn’t worth the effort for me as our primary goal was getting CarPlay.4). Steering Wheel Control (included with radio) - I couldn’t figure out how to connect this - it also only mounts on the right side of the steering wheel where there wasn’t room with the cruise control buttons. No big deal as its really not needed.Overall - this was very easy to install (took me about 30 minutes and I’ve never hooked up a car radio before). We now have CarPlay in a 2003 CR-V and the unit looks like it was made for the car.

Is it what the ad say?
The stereo arrived earlier than expected...a package inside of a box. On opening the box, I took the box with the stereo out and began reading and looking at the pictures. With some trepidation I opened the box and was exited to see all the gizmos and dilhickeys (proper terminology...all those years you have been saying do-hickys..oh well...public schools...you get what you pay for). I took out the tiny little booklet (manual?) and read it and then I read it again (it only took a couple of minutes). It seemed to me that all of the glowing high end hype that caused me to purchase this stereo, wasn't reflected, either on the box it came in or in the "manual". A cold, sinking feeling began to slowly come over me. The remembrance of the several times I had been cheated before on another e site. The all too familiar miss-information, the inconsistent script. I decided to send it back. The return was the best part of the transaction. I simply drove to my local Whole Foods market, walked up to the Customer Service desk, handed them the stereo, showed the little gizmo (I'm from generation A I think) on my phone that was texted to me by Amazon, they did something on their computer, and thanked me. I stepped back, stunned, and decided to shop seeing that I was in a grocery store after all (I found bread and bagels made without calcium propinate). All in all, a most enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back at Whole Foods again, soon.

A lot of radio for the money.
After finally figuring out how to find a wire that actually turns off the unit with the key was kind of a pain. I ended up using just the cigarette lighter in the new body style beetle with the red wire. The backup camera works but very hard to line up. Overall you can't beat this setup for the money.
