Marvel fans should not miss it.
Well I took my time to finish this book, so my review wouldn't be containing all the thoughts I was having while reading it.But this book Gave me new insights in Marvel universe and specially in the life of Black Widow. Honestly I didn't know much about the black widow's life and her past, except what I know from the movies. But after reading this now I know her origin and most of the details about her.Novel was neatly written and everything excuted very well, I can it was the perfect one. I didn't feel anything but surprises at every page and it was really nice to read something in novel format about a character whom you have seen so many times in different media.I liked this book and according to Goodreads community its sequel book is more better than this one so hopefully I'll enjoy that too. This book was fast paced and very descriptive wether it's about natasha, Ava or Alex or even Ivon.Marvel fans must read it.

The title of book should would be AVA then BLACK WIDOW.
I completed this book in 2 days. I give 3 stars because its more about ava then black widow which is unfair as the book titled BLACK WIDOW. I expected more BW then AVA , Disappointed. But story line is good. Some chapters seem boring which were of ava's and alex's life(their's so called conversation). Over all Ava got more attention then BW😣.I WAS EXPECTING THE PAST OF BW DURING HER RED ROOM ERA LIKE HOW SHE GOT THERE ? HOW SHE ESCAPED FROM THERE? HOW SHE BECAME A AGENT ? SO AND SO. but nothing answered my questions which is never expected from this book. Never going to buy the second sequal cause I had enough Ava for my life not needed more.

This series joins my auto-buy list.
Black Widow is one of my favourite characters. It is a shame that she doesn’t get her own spotlight moments in the Avenger series. Marvel keeps making and remaking the same superhero movies till they start looking like spoof of their original avatars (have you seen the latest Spiderman trailer?) yet they won’t give Black Widow her own movie! How is that even fair? Anyway, needless to say that when I discovered that the Black Widow is getting her own book series, I managed to get my hands on Forever Red as soon as I could and delved into the pages for a kickass journey!Ava Orlova is trying to live the life of a normal teenager, but there is nothing normal about her. Her life has been a whirlwind that brought her close to S.H.I.E.L.D, the Red Room and the Black Widow. Ava feels abandoned because she was once saved by the Black Widow only to have her move on to her next assignment while Ava was the one who was left behind. But their paths cross again when a common enemy returns from the dead. As they work towards unraveling their pasts to look for ways to bring down their nemesis, secrets are uncovered and questions are answered. But will the duo manage to bring down the notorious teacher of the Red Room?We see a lot of Marvel universe in this book. However, my favourite part in the book is that of the character of Black Widow. Her strength and cold nature is shown in a way that the Marvel Movies failed to capture. At the same time, her more humane side is also uncovered as we discover her past. In this book she is almost the kickass character that I remember reading about when I was much younger. Ava is also a strong character who I slowly warmed up to. The plot has a sense of underlying mystery that leads up to a big twist. There is mystery, action and drama to keep the readers involved. It is certainly a page turner from the word go!This being my first Black Widow Novel, I was expecting a bit more of action and mind games. Don’t get me wrong, there is enough in the book, but after craving for more of this character, my expectations were just that high! The bottom line is that I loved reading this book and I am looking forward to more…

The origin
I did really want to like this book, but it a bit too slow for me. I like the characters, this is more the marvel comic book version of the Black Widow as opposed to the warmer more flirtatious version played by Scarlet in the movies (however I am sure she would turn on the charm is needed). This is the part of the book I like, but my main problem with the book is it is too slow. There is almost noting in the book you will not see coming a few chapters before. The book is written from 3 perspectives, Natasha's, Ave's, and Alex's. The are also a few guest stars and honorable mentions. The thing that really does not work for me is, transcripts of the deposition at the end/beginning of every chapter. I can see this working in a movie setting as a cut scene, but it did not work for me in the book format, also in some cases I though it game too much away. To me this is origin story. The Red Room, now defunct, was where a young girl Natasha Romanoff was trained/tortured into the super spy and now Averger the Black Widow. Still bearing scars and trauma, The Widow is sent to "take care of" her over time mentor and head of the Red Room program, Ivan the Strange. However Ivan is not done and still has a few cards to including a long term plan for Natasha and the world. For someone who has always know hardship and betrayal, this give Widow something she has not had in a long time. Hope. There are parts of this book that I though were very good, but it is just too slow for me and like I said a bit obvious what is going to happen. It is a bit overly ambitious in the plot as well it reminds me of the 80s villains for spies.

Amazing
I loved this book I found it a bit confusing for a start but it’s easy to understand after the first few chapters. It’s written very well and I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves black widow in the comics and in the movies. Overall a great read.
