This is a high performance part. The fit and finish is fantastic. The precision machining and grease zerks ensure this part can handle high rpms and should last for many years. I used a set to create a wheel axle on my smoker. Using these pillow carriers it was built overkill in strength and will outlast a lifetime.

Quality seems solid, definitely a good value up front.Time will tell if they last, but so far so good.A word on alignment: people complaining that the bearings are not aligned from the factory don't seem to understand that pillow block bearings are intended to have angular compliance to make up for misalignment when they're mounted. They're complaining about the key characteristic feature of this type of bearing. Also, they are not pressed in, if you tip the bearing 90 degrees in the housing, you can pop it out for replacement. All you need to align these bearings is to mount both, then bring the shaft in from one end. If it's off, just pull it toward center and the bearing will pivot. Repeat for the other side and the shaft should slip through with no problems.

Product was solidly built. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that it is a little hard to get an allen wrench into the set screw to lock it on to the shaft because of the alignment with the housing.

I'm using these for the hand crank axle on a firewood bundle wrapping machine. These pillow block bearings will NEVER wear out in this application. I can't say how they would perform in a high rpm, high stress application though.

Professional fit and finish

These pillow blocks are exactly as the listing describes. The dimensions on the ones I received are precise as listed. I'm currently using one in a jackshaft assembly for the drive system on a modified golf cart. I've seen a lot of negative reviews claiming that the bearings are misaligned. Please realize that the bearing is spherical, meaning that the outer bearing shell rotates within the cast iron mounting block, even allowing the bearing itself to be rotated in such a way that it can be removed from the mounting block if needed. This allows for misalignment when mounting. To put it as simply as I can, the bearing aligns itself to the shaft that you install it on.

This bearing and housing look good and seem heavy. The size though, was 16+ thousandths too small for a 5/8 shaft, likely a metric measurement. Ended up destroying the first attempting to make the shaft fit with removing material.I would not buy again.

One went bad after about 100 hrs on a belt sander. The other side still good. They are so cheap it works to just replace them occasionally.
