I really did not know what to expect when I ordered this. I doubted that it would work better than lighter fluid, but preferred not having to use Charcoal Lighter Fluid. I have to say, I am amazed with just how incredible this charcoal lighter is. Within about 30 seconds I have good flames going and within a couple of minutes my ceramic grill is up to 600 degrees. I will never use lighter fluid or lighter cubes again.

This was easy to use and fire started quickly. Really replaces the need for lighter fluid.

Once we figured out how to correctly use it, it was great. The instructions are not helpful, there is more about what not to do than actually what to do. We watched a YouTube video on how to use it and thankfully that helped. At first we thought it was not working because the paper instructions said a few seconds, but the video said a minute or longer, which you definitely need. You have to hold it by the charcoal for at least a minute if not longer to get it started. At first we didn't think this was any faster than using lighter fluid and letting it sit, but after a few minutes, we could tell that the coals were heating up faster. We love the fact that we don't have to use lighter fluid. It is a few extra minutes of work on the front side of it, but on the back side, it is much faster for the coals to light and be ready. We want to use this a few more times to get the hang of it, but I think in the end it is much faster to use to heat the coals.

I got this lighter for my coal stove and it has been a godsend. It is usually a huge pain to get my coal to light up and this lighter has cut down the time needed to get it going significantly. I usually sit there with a long BIC lighter for 10 - 15 minutes which causes a lot of the smoke into the house. This lighter heats everything up much quicker and gets the fire going in no time at all. I love the fact that it's long and keeps my hand away from the flames. It is really easy to operate and as long as you don't stick your hand towards the end of it, is completely safe.

This is a great fire starter. Operation is simple - just turn it on and point at charcoal. Cord is plenty long and it’s way faster than fire starter cubes.

The media could not be loaded. The tool works, it lit my briquettes without any problems.It works like a heat gun on high setting, but designed for your grill.You plug it in, point it at the briquettes and push the button, that’s pretty much it.Pros:- Well made and sturdy, looks like it will last a long time- Long enough handle to keep your hand well away from the heat- Quick lighting, the forced air spreads the heat and lights the remaining briquettes- Less smoke than my regular chimney with newspapersCons:- Requires an electric plug near your bbq. Cable is not very long, in most cases you’ll need an extension cord- Button to turn it on must be held in on position. It is spring loaded and will turn off if you let go.- You can’t set it and leave, you have stay and hold the button and then move it around for a few minutes to spread the heat. With my chimney and newspapers, I light it and walk away.

I always seem to run out of lighter fluid in the most inconvenient times. No more lighter fluid is required! This is easy to use and works effectively.
