Depeche Mode's Video Singles Collection is the definitive 3DVD library anthology containing more than four hours of the post-punk pioneers' groundbreaking music videos (and two-plus hours of audio commentary). The 3DVD set presents more than three decades worth of Depeche Mode's international hit singles as lensed for the group's mind-blowing progression of innovative and provocative music videos directed by a who's who of cinematic visionaries including Julien Temple, Anton Corbijn, D.A. Pennebaker, John Hillcoat and others. Video Singles Collection is the first in a series of band-approved retrospective projects examining Depeche Mode's extraordinary career and effect on pop culture and marks the first time that DM's video singles-from 1981 to 2013-have been compiled together in a single anthology. The set includes 55 newly restored versions of the essential video singles in the DM canon in addition to four rare alternate videos and new commentary on specific individual clips, recorded by members of Depeche Mode especially for this release.

Finally
I have been a fan of Depeche Mode since I first heard Everything Counts when I was 13, in 1983.I have been so pleased to see that a band I grew up with that helped shape me in so many ways, has continued to put out good work , sometimes great still, after all these years. I've seen them live a dozen times over the years from Santa Barbara to San Diego , over and over. They have put out some great live performance home viewing products. But For such a loved band, with decades long worshiping fans, I never understood why they didn't put any collections together to maybe coincide with thier many singles collections.Soooo.... To now have this 4 plus hour beauty, with videos I've never seen like the one for Leave in Silence, is more than a joy, it is finally being fulfilled by this fantastic , Infuencial and still important band.So to say this is worth buying, is Obvious, but that this is actually such a large collection, makes it a steal and a must for even the most casual fan.

Enjoy the Videos! All 55 of 'em!!
I can't understand why anyone would complain about this release. Unless, of course, they aren't Depeche Mode fans. I grabbed this when it was $19.99 on Amazon and at $29.99 it's still a steal. Do the math: 55 vides @ approximately $.60 each = a DM bargain. In 1998 I picked up "The Videos 86-98" which had 21 videos, an interview, and a short film - that single DVD was around $25.00. Although Blu Ray would have been preferred for this release, it wouldn't offer any visual upgrade since the masters aren't 1080 filmed plus DM hasn't any real hi res audio except for the Delta Machine Blu Ray Audio Disc and a few hi res digital releases. The audio and video are very enjoyable and it's great to have almost everything they've released in one release. The packaging is a bit cramped and one simple suggestion is to take care removing the DVD discs and place them immediately in jewel cases for long term storage. If they'd spent more in packaging (i.e. a box set type release) we'd most likely be looking at $50.00 plus. This release is great exactly as is.

Every DM Devotee Needs To Own This Collection
I give this 5 stars for the fact that it is DM .I love the collection and the videos... the commentary is great. I just wish there was commentary on every video. Also I don't understand why they couldn't add Clean, Pimpf and my favorite Halo as bonus content even though none of them were singles. My only complaint is the tight packaging. When you first open them it is very hard to get the discs out of the slots. I had the same complaint about the Alive in Berlin boxset. I don't know why they can't package these things better. Still I am very happy to own this collection. Every DM Devotee should have this.

Excellent overview of DM's videos. Wish that all available videos were included
Love it. It's a very good overview of what DM have done over the years and with some very interesting commentary, which is probably what you would be after if you already have previous collections of videos on DVD. Also it includes the first part of the videos form 81-85, which as far as I know did not have a DVD release. For me personally the only thing that's missing are the non-single videos from Strange & Strange Too, namely Halo, Clean and Pimpf. I think this was the opportunity to finally release them on DVD. Although, I've heard rumours they have plans to release these as separate DVDs. Fingers crossed.

A near perfect collection. I recommend it highly to any DM fan.
Wow. As a long time Depeche Mode fan Christmas came early this year. Having their videos together in one place is so awesome. And the audio commentaries from the current members is worth the price alone. I've been a DM fan since about 1983 and there were some videos on this set that I didn't even know existed. I have only a few minor negative things to say. (1) I wish Alan and Vince came aboard to add to the commentaries. (2) Not all videos have commentaries. (3) The alternate video of Enjoy the Silence that takes place on top of one of the world trade center towers is absent. Even with these I've mentioned, the collection is near perfect. I can't wait to see what they release in the future.

Fast Fashion forever!
I work on the theory that there are no bad Depeche Mode songs, and the music in this 3-disc collection does not disappoint. In fact, it proves the point that if you stay true to what you know best - in this case the fast-paced electronica that made them famous - you can't go wrong. I love the videos, though they don't always do the lyrics justice. The third disc with the 'long' versions of the videos is nice to have, though there aren't many songs on it. I love this collection!

Great collection, bad packaging
Depeche Mode videos are great and some even iconic. One of thE things I love about DM is the willingness to put out a package like this that is career spanning, including those videos DM themselves would rather remain in obscurity (Meaning of Love, for example). Theres not much to say about the videos other than the fact that this is an almost complete package with videos up to Delta Machine, including alternate versions and commentaries on several of them. While it is DVD, you can tell care was taken to make sure this was the best presentation possible, looking good on your HD tv despite how old some of these videos are.As to quality of the content, if you're a DM fan, you'll like them all, even if it's their lesser videos. Their best videos come in Black Celebration era videos as thats where Anton Corbijn comes in, providing DM with a lot of their image that is maintained to the present day. But even when Corbijn steps away, theres some videos like Wrong that are still excellent in their own right. Missing still are some of the pieces from the Strange, Strange Too releases, notably Halo. But hopefully theres a future for these. This release loses a star due to packaging. Its a flimsy cardboard slipcase and you do have to do some work to make sure you get the DVDs out without damaging them. I'm guessing they were trying to produce this in the cheapest way possible as video collections are a niche market, but its the one annoying thing to an otherwise great collection.
