Hi A. Gonzalez : There is no metal in the product except a covered screw that is made from 304 Stainless Steel - 304 stainless steel contains chromium (min. 18%), and nickel (min. 8%). It is an austenite steel and is considered non-magnetic due to its relatively high concentration of chromium and nickel and the specific lattice structure of the chemical bonds between those elements. Hi there -- for dead-heading flowers YES they would work great -- however, flower stems would not be a good fit for the smaller 10544 Slice Scissors - we are coming out with a larger pair later this year that would work on the stems --- stems are too thick for the current smaller 10544 pair of scissors.
