As advertised, replacement piece for the dimension 1 filters. Fits perfectly, and easy to install.

The instructions don't actually tell you where you install the thing. I looked online, but I couldn't find anything that directly said how to install it. Does it go below the filter? Does it go on the top of the filter under the plastic strainer basket? Does it go in the strainer basket? Would be nice if they had explicate instruction on where to install it. I ended up placing it under the filter basket on top of the fliter, but it just kind of sit there and moves around a bit. Not sure how much water is actually being pulled through the vents and across the activated charcoal because it seems like most the water just jgets pulled down the center into the filter directly.

We use this in our 2000 dimension one spa and had to chlorinate every ten days. We were using the one that came with our used spa and when we drained, balanced and shocked our spa and put in new cartridge we cut our chlorine usage down by 75%. Our ozonator no longer works but this definitely helps. We also use non chlorine sanitizer after each use which is 2-3 times per week. Our ph, hardness , alkalinity stay pretty well balanced. ** note we do not wear makeup, moisturizer, laundered bathing suits, or soaps etc …. in the spa. When our step daughter did, thats when ph, alk and chlorine really went haywire and black gunk appeared. Overall with clean bodies and proper after use care of sanitizer we shock only once every 3-4 weeks.******update**** we are now using lots of shock to keep our tub stable, i believe the cartridge is only really good and effective for 4months, not 6… 4 months is standard for all other mineral cartridges

I am not sure I buy the bit about what this is suppose to do for our spa, but I do know that for a plastic cage with a cheap substance in it, the cost could be a LOT lower. Just too expensive - will probably stop using it when this one is done.

Took my old one out when I replaced the filter then had trouble keeping my chlorine balanced. This thing keeps my chlorine levels in check and makes it easier to maintain my hot tub!
