Great starting point for creating data sheets for IEPs
I'm working with several new teachers who are just learning how to write goals and assess progress on IEPs. I bought this on a whim, thinking it might be helpful. I received this book just about a week ago, and it's already become a key resource for my teachers in creating data sheets for IEP monitoring! It's great as an example of how to break down skills to collect data quickly and easily, but also of just how to set up a basic data collection sheet. I think the only way I'll ever get my book back is if I can convince my administrator to buy copies for my teachers, but that's a problem that I don't mind having!

Amazing resource!
Best single thing I've got for assessing and placing my fundamental skills students. I only wish it were available in a digital format. I'd gladly pay for it again to be able to print at my desk!

Excellent resource for the classroom teacher/parents
This is an excellent resource for a classroom teacher and/or parent. It provides a scope and sequence of basic skills for low functioning autistic students for home and school. It breaks down skills into task analysis with a data sheet that can be used to track progress. As a classroom teacher, I plan to use this for many of my low functioning life skills students. In addition, there are some very helpful checklists to send home to parents to break-down personal care skills that cannot be addressed in a school setting.I am glad I spent the money on this resource!

It was a little better than OK.
The book was in good condition. However the checklists were redundant and did not give any accompanying information. But it did say basic and it was basic. Also, it was easy to understand.

useful and well-organized book
This book can be used to track progress, generate goals, and inform curriculum. It's a well-organized book that parents (especially homeschoolers) and teachers of children with special needs will find useful. I use it in conjunction with "Language Targets to Teach a Child to Communicate," by Luckevich.

An excellent resource. I got all my class to buy it and they took it with them to their new class. An easy pain free way to record skills acquired.

Great resource
Summarized curriculum areas and more. Checklists really made all the adults think about the skills children need to be successful.
