Summit Chemical Co. Mosquito Bits, 8oz

Had fungal gnats in my peace lily plants. After researching saw this was good to make a “tea” to water with and kill the larvae in the soil. This did the trick!

It took a while, but eventually got rid of all the fungus gnats that had been driving me bonkers.Just put a large spoonful into a 1 litre container full of water and allowed them to infuse. I then poured the mixture into a spray bottle (but so you don't clog up the nozzle, I suggest straining the liquid through a very fine mesh). It pongs a bit, but I added a few drops of peppermint oil and that took the edge off.I then sprayed the soil of my houseplants, and in the self-watering pots, I would also spray the bottom reservoir as well. Took over a month, but eventually the fungus gnats went. I've been gnat-free for 7 months now.

It is a very good product and the only thing I would advice is that you use warm or semi hot water when making the mixture. It helps break down the Mosquito BITS better and quicker. Although the mixture smells like genie pig food pellets, once you pour the mixture into the soil the smell lessen greatly. My friend and I had a fungus gnat infestation on our indoor plants due to some bad Miracle Grow soil {Miracle Grow is cheap for a reason >:( } She used Mosquito Bits for her plants for a few days and she hasn't had anymore gnats living in her plants. I changed out the soil to a better brand (lucky bamboo) but still had adults gnats laying eggs in the soil so I used Mosquito BITS till I got rid of all the adults (which took about a week) and it killed all the larvae.
