Works Very Well at proving in grid solar!
I purchased this device as a test unit to see if these grid tie inverters actually did work. I have to be honest and say i was initially concerned if these type of device would be safe to use - so when it arrived before plugging it into my solar and mains i took the device apart to inspect the electronics inside the device. After a basic inspection i was happy that the soldered parts looked safe enough and there were no loose wires etc, the components used also looked fine. One thing i did notice was that the heat sink pad still had the blue film on top of it - so clearly this had no been removed at the factory. I removed the film in order to allow the heat sink to work effectively. To test the output of the device i plugged it into my wall energy meter which works in reverse and showed me the wattage being sent into the grid. Connecting up a 200w solar panel resulted in the wattage meter showing between 7w and 100w going into the mains circuit (dependant on the clouds in the sky and the suns strength). I understand that this device is only rated up to 180w but i was happy that i would get no where near the panels 200w output in mid October. Further to this i also checked my IHD smart meter display and when the device was receiving solar input the grid use would drop by almost the same as what my energy monitor was displaying. The device also stayed nice and cool despite pulling in around 100w when the sun was truly shining. So in summary i can confirm that these devices do actually work as described.Top Tip: If you do decide to order one of these products then do check to make sure the heat sink film has been removed to stop the device overheating. Also i would never leave this plugged in unsupervised. Finally i would only ever put less energy into my home than i was actually using according to the IHD - that way no excess power is being sent back to the grid - this is just me for safety reasons. The device does state it has a grid down safety cut out feature.I hope that you found my review helpful.

simple and remarkably cheap
Cheap enough (2023-11 £35.19) for me to buy it to answer the question "will my electricity meter go backwards?". It doesn't, which helps me plan other things. It is simple to use and seems to lock on very quickly. I was testing in weak November UK sun, 70 W is about half my panel's rated output. I haven't seen how it will cope with full load. You need to fit a 13A mains plug or equivalent and the cord supplied is quite short. Most likely it will need to reach a waterproof joint box to feed a longer cable.I didn't evaluate it for outdoor use, that isn't going to be relevant for me.

3 stars based on good customer service, but the inverter failed within 4 days of use
Inverter connected for 4 days & after 1 day (at some point) the green lamp went off & started to flash red. I contacted customer support after the lamp had remained flashing red continuously over 3 sunny days. I checked all connections... etc and was advised to remove the top casing to inspect the internal electronics. When removing the cover I found burnt out components and scorch / burning on the main PCB & underside of the top casing cover. The seller offered me help to replace components etc, but all in all, the inverter, which was mounted in a cool dry environment, connected as per the datasheet supplied and to a PV panel within spec shouldn't have failed after 1 or 2 days use. In the end I opted for an Amazon return & was issued a refund.A few other things that might help others - This inverter states 180w, whereas in fact its 150w. As others have said, the inverter gets hot. When the inverter initially worked, it seemed to do its job quite well. I had this inverter connected to a 130w solar panel with a Vmp of 20.2v & the MPPT control seemed to be quite good over a range of sunlight throughout the day. Its just a shame the inverter failed.

Works ok
Does not like getting hot power goes down to a lower level till it cools then goes back up.

Easy to hook up, does the job
Dead easy to connect up, just click the connectors on your solar panel into the ones on this unit, connect the Earth, Live and Neutral wires into a 13A plug and push it into a socket. I've plugged mine in through a power analyser so I can measure what it's doing. At 2pm in the middle of January it was delivering about 40W so a promising start.Update. Went "pop" after ten days - the output fuse had blown spectacularly, depositing metal soot over a lot of other components. The "ready" light was still flashing, so it might have been repairable, as per the advert - however there is no apparent way get the instructions or contact the seller at all. With only a 30 day return window I sent it back and got a refund. Looks like they can't handle spikes on the mains, I can't see a good alternative, so I'll have to get another one, but this time connect through an external 1amp quick blow fuse, with a varistor and a snubber network to hopefully stop spikes.

Good inverter.
Found this works great for my application...I've even ran it direct from 12v battery at a lower output approx 40w output from 12v battery at approx 13v charge. ...At 16 to 18 volts you get to the 120w. As voltage increases the watts output increases. At low outputs it is good for not exporting back to grid.

Thanks
product arrived before the promised time. Packed qualitatively. The technical characteristics are similar to those indicated on the seller's website. I recommend the seller.
