excellent advice
My closet is not a terrible mess and I purge regularly. However, I do still have some issues, so I purchased this book. I’m glad I did! There are lots of things in it which have helped me, including the wardrobe basics and some storage ideas.

Helpful, simple, patient, concise.
This book could help a person who is immobilized for whatever reason and just can't attack their overstuffed, cluttered closet. The author (your new smart, patient best friend) holds your hand and takes you through the mental process first: deciding whether to clear it out and organize, and why it matters. She suggests lining up a "declutter buddy" to show or share before & after photos with. And then, the big clean. The essence of her advice is summed up here:Now is the time to go through your items one by one, making a decision as you go. Should you keep, sell, give away, ditch or store? If in doubt, try things on.Ask yourself these questions before making a decision:Does it fit me?Does it suit my personality and my style? Is it 'me'?Does it make me say 'wow'?Is it classic and good quality enough for multiple wears and/ or years? Will it go with as many of my other clothes as possible? Is it too old, in bad condition or past its 'wear-by-date'?Do I already have something similar?Last but not least, does your hubby think you are sexy in it?

Very obvious suggestions.
I like Marieanne Lecoure on You Tube. But this books didn't go into much detail about how to organize your closet. I read it and gave it away.

I'd Have Never Bought This...
...based on its title and cover I wouldn't have been interested in this book. But a few weeks ago I discovered Marie-Anne LeCoeur on YouTube and quickly became a fan of her wonderfully positive energy. I bought this book simply to support what she's doing and was delighted that the book is a joy to read. Her spirit shines through every page.

Good Riddance
Enjoyed the chic and elegant handbook so much that I bought the tidy closet!!! With so much emphasis on conspicuous consumption in our society today it is refreshing to read about ways to reduce all this excess in our closets and ultimately in our homes!! I also purchased the "gentle art of Swedish death cleaning" book. Both books give wonderful tips on how to minimize all the excess that we have in our closets and in our homes. We have to think of others and future generations and how all this excess will adversely affect them!! The French motto is "less is more" is truly the only path to take in our lives!!!

Common knowledge information, bland presentation
Maybe the author's other books are great, but this book was very underwhelming in its advice. Nearly all of it is very obvious information that has been covered repeatedly (and better) in other books, magazines, Pinterest tips, and blogs. The author kept repeating herself chapter after chapter; more than once I flipped back to a previous section to double check that I wasn't hallucinating. I had indeed read the same concept already a few pages before.Bland. Basic. All text; really no photos, illustrations, or tables to break up the info and make it more interesting to read. A number of grammar errors (I know the author is French, but the editor could have taken more care). Not worth the time, let alone the money.

Perfect book to transform your closet!
I've been in my home for nearly 8 years with a walk-in closet that has become more cluttered with each day. I didn't realize how much I dreaded finding something to wear (though I love fashion) until I decluttered my closet! The Tidy Closet is so well written with all the steps you need to transform your closet to a lovely, welcoming, organized space! It took me a weekend (I have a lot of stuff) and there were moments of dread (like when everything from my closet was on my bed and bedroom floor) but I kept remembering the tips from the book and pushed through. It was so worth it! Not only is my closet more spacious, I feel wonderful! It has even made a difference on how I start my day. I'm going to take the tips from this book to tackle other areas of my home!

Guter Ansatz

A clear path to a tidy closet!
Marie-Anne Lecoeur wrote this book like she was talking to me as a friend. Her advice on how to achieve and maintain a tidy closet is simple, practical, and to-the-point. Also very motivating. She essentially provides a clear roadmap to get from a disaster zone of a closet to one that is tidy and satisfying. She also includes a bonus chapter on classic wardrobe essentials to have in one's closet. She says that having these essentials will make getting dressed and looking chic much easier, helping one to save time and effort. I followed her advice, and she is so right! I also loved the little section in The Tidy Closet called "Use Your Best." She writes, "Instead of 'Sunday best,' why not 'Tuesday best' or 'Thursday best'? Let's aim for 'every day best.' Make every day special enough to wear your best clothes and use your most precious accessories. This will make you feel extra special and chic. Why not look and feel great every day?" Yes! Thanks to what I've learned from Marie-Anne, I've ditched (donated) my frumpy clothes and wear nice garments whenever I go out, even if I'm just to go to the store to buy a bag of cat litter. Having an organized closet, following Marie-Anne's guidelines, is essential for dressing ourselves with awareness and care. The results are fantastic.

Best tidy closet helper
Written so it is easy to read, in chapters so not overwhelming...although once i started i read the lot i really wanted to read what was next. There is a bonus chapter to help you start a 'basic' wardrobe with tips. So glad i bought it. Also the video clip '10 ways to start your chic...' by Marianne Lecour complements the book. Highly recommend it...should have bought it sooner.
