I asked our vet about this product and she told us that this would be a good product for our dog who is now 10 years old and does have hip problems. This product has improved our dog's ability to get up easier from the floor and his walking has also improved.

I am generally extremely skeptical of over-the-counter supplements, since most of them make claims with zero good-quality research to support them.However...After talking to *my* doctor and Alba’s vet, and reading the reviews, I decided to try these. On the dog, I mean. Alba is a 10-year-old pibble, and is starting to get a little stiff and creaky. Instead of trotting up the stairs, she comes up one at a time, and she now makes a production out of jumping onto my (admittedly very high) bed from a standing start. She’s still high-energy, playful and dedicated to her job (Supervisor of All Food-Related, Outdoor and Recreational Endeavors), but just a little...less.After less than two weeks, I noticed a real improvement in her overall freedom and smoothness of movement. Since Alba is not aware of the Placebo Effect, and we had changed nothing else in her diet, I’m going to go out on a limb and say This Stuff Works and I’ll be a regular customer.Taste: Well, Alba will eat anything that even remotely resembles food or has been in contact with food at some time or is a paper product. So, you know, not exactly a discerning palate. She loves them, though, for what it’s worth.

My dog loves the taste of these chews! I have an 11 year old 55 pound Airedale Terrier. She is a total diva. Totally picky, she only takes medicine with loads of peanut butter on it and if you hold it in your hand (if she doesn't just lick it off), she must have fresh water or she won't drink (and she won't share) and the list goes on. So I was leery about buying these. She is smart and usually can tell if it looks like the container is a treat container or medicine one. However these arrived and my seven year old son gave her two before I could put them in a treat container. She licked the taste so much that she actually whined for more. Now every morning she goes over to the container and stares at it until we give them to her if we don't do it right as soon as we get up.I only gave them 4 stars because we have been giving her two for just under 2 months and I haven't really seen much noticeable difference in her behavior. However, she was living with my parents until about three months ago for just over three years so I have no seen her with the achey hips for a while. I can tell you that my young son plays with her daily and she keeps up. We also have hard wood floors that are super slick and Shen she slides she gets right back up and goes running. So the fact that I'm not seeing any pain or slow down is a good sign to me. I just bought two more. If I see a big improvement or the vet says something, I'll adjust the rating accordingly.I will definitely say that if you have a picky dog, these are apparently delicious!!!

Love this product. I give my dog 1 twice a day.

Update- Active Chews responded quickly to my issue and refunded me for the defective container. I have used this product for years and highly recommend for aging pups who need a little more love for their joints so they can be as active as ever!I received this product and I am unable to open it. I have bought this product numerous times and never had this issue. Not sure what to do as for some reason I am not able to return it and spent over $25 on the product.

Didn’t seem to hurt; didn’t seem to help. The container will be finished today and I’m trying something else.I have two dogs in need of joint support. One is an 85 lb, 10 1/2-year-old Lab mix who started limping about two years ago and neither the vet nor I have found the solution to relieve her discomfort. She has been on some form of joint support since she was two. The other is a 55 lb, almost 14-year-old pit mix who is disfigured with arthritis and whose previous owner pretty much let things take their course. I have had her and been trying to treat her for her aches and pains for about six months.Their hearts and minds are in it but both dogs went from great horseback riding, hiking, and jogging companions to unable to take a step without limping. I’d love to bring their joints in line with their brains so they can be more comfortably active. I haven’t found anything yet to do the trick, whether prescribed, homeopathic, OTC…

I bought these for my two labs, ages 16 and 11. The 16 year old has an issue with the membrane around her lower spine that causes her back legs to give out on her quite a bit (along with all the other issues that come from being an extremely old dog), and the 11 year hold has joint issues on her back legs (she's a large 100-lb lab). I've given them glucosamine on and off for a while, but because glucosamine can be extremely expensive I've not bought it all the time.I decided to try this brand on a whim because I hadn't seen it before, and also because the price was reasonable. I can honestly say I've seen a HUGE difference in my 16 year old dog after about a month of using these pills - she has become more active, a bit more stable on her feet, and more interactive with the whole family. Even my husband noticed that she actually gets out of bed and comes into the kitchen in the morning (instead of eating breakfast in bed), that she's "asking" to go for walks now, and that she gets up and greets us when we come home instead of just laying around. We've seen this change for a sustained period of time (I'd say a couple of months now), so I'm fairly confident it's due to this supplement - nothing else has changed.I have no issues getting my dogs to take these (I just mix them in with their food), and in my opinion they're reasonably priced. So we will continue to use these for the long term!

These chews have changed my elderly pup’s life!!! She is 13, nearly blind, her fur was patchy and thin, she was on cortisone for her hip pain (she has a deformation that causes pain/stiffness in her back legs and results in a limp). I have been giving her one of these a day for almost a month and the changes have been beyond drastic. We just had her groomed yesterday and when she came back we realized we don’t see her skin through her fur anymore! It has fully grown back and stopped falling out! She has so much energy, she is now taking walks with us again (she hadn’t been able to in months) and jumping and even playing !!! Which she didn’t do anymore prior to taking these. Her limp, although still present due to the deformation, is much less pronounced - in fact her joints are so much better that she is off her cortisone. She is overall in a much better state and I cannot thank the makers of these chews enough for giving my old girl her life back!

Our dog loves the flavour. But they are fragile and crumble easily I was really concerned when they were out of stock for so long. Very glad they're back. Our dog just spits out other joint supplements

I think these are great. A lot of value for your money with this product. I just hope they don't start increasing prices like crazy. I've seen that with other products on Amazon with great ratings.As you can see in the picture I posted, there is only one heart lol the rest are broken pieces.I wish they would stop making heart shapes. The product comes all broken (like 70% Re broken)...they should really stick to a more structurally sound shape like a square or circles. This way I don't have to guess at what dose I'm giving my girl.

We started giving these to our 13 yr old husky just over a month ago and it has made a HUGE improvement! She was very stiff and would yelp when getting up. Now, we don't hear a peep from her and she gets up with ease! We have to use 3 a day so it last us 40 days per container which I think is pretty reasonable! She is a picky dog and loves these treats! They are moist and soft!

You can’t tell in 2 days if theses will help or not . I can say that she eats them as a treat so they can’t be that bad in flavor but for helping her hip can’t say yet.
