SawtoothHarmony Series Hand Stained Elephant Design Compact Cajon Percussion Box

I needed to add a kick pedal to my cajon. I found it cheaper to just purchase a standard kick pedal, a cajon mount and this cajon. This cajon is terrific. It sounds very good and is easy to find it's various sounds. I will note that I added a 12"x12" acoustic foam square to the inside bottom to improve it's low sound. I have taken this to gigs by itself and use it with my other cajon with the kick pedal setup. Either way it's a great drum and has a good sound. There's a velco strip inside to adjust the snares. I just slip the velcro adjuster under the snares and now the snares are no longer touching the drum face which, for a bass drum only cajon, is what I wanted. But, it's easy to put the snare action back in play.

I'm not a professional musician by any means, but I read the reviews and thought I'd take a chance on this cajon. The beautiful elephant design and great price made this stand apart from the other cajons I researched.It arrived in a timely manner. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality; it is much better than expected.I took this to my daughter's music teacher who is a percussionist and he was also very impressed with the quality and the sound.I love it so much that I just placed an order for another one so my family doesn't have to fight over just the one.

I bought this for my grandson's 7th birthday in the travel size. It was the perfect height. The quality of the woodwork & paint finish was excellent. It makes a wonderful sound & variation of tones depending on where & how you hit the face of the drum. You can use your hand or fingers. My husband also loved it & ordered an identical one for his 6 yr old grandson & is considering getting the larger size for himself. I didn't see any adjustable springs inside. I don't think it would even be necessary.I had read that some had adjustments. My grandson has played a similar drum accompanying songs at his church. He loves it. It would be wonderful for anyone young or old that enjoys music & likes to play along. No experience or lessons required!

Great for accompanying while teaching someone to play a melody instrument: I have been teaching my kiddos whatever instruments they want during this whole quarantine (I have taught lessons for pretty much every string and brass instruments in the past except cello) but this is great for not only teaching time signatures and percussion: it’s also invaluable for accompanying others while they play or practice other instruments. Way better than a metronome, because you can choose which notes to accent! You definitely can’t find a better value out there and the snare is adjustable so I’ve even used it to mimic Timpani (I’m not joking)

I absolutely love this cajon! It has at least 4 distinct tones depending on where you hit and/or where you place your foot on the face. The only thing I would improve upon is to screw the bass cone into the back after its glued. Mine came with the cone broken off - shipping I guess. I really enjoy drumming and it surely takes the stress away! I love the elephant too!

I was so excited when I received the item. However upon looking at it only minutes of taking it out of the box, I noticed the wood was seperated from where the two sides of the cajon met.I sent it back and happily asked to exchange for another. Unfortunately, the replacement also had a wood split and separation so I returned it for a refund. I dont want to chance a third time. It was a very pretty box, wish it wasnt defective.

I have a full size cajon from another company that cost twice as much as this. As soon as I got this and played I put my other one up for sale. I can get 4 distinct notes from this - inclusing a deep bass. The other - I get 2 notes and no deep bass note. This is very musical..

I got this as a present for a child who has sensory needs thinking that it would give interesting feedback by having different sounds for different parts of the box that are hit. But you need a higher level of skill to be able to make that work than even I have.

Great compact cajon. Nice rich rhythmic tones.
