I purchased two different ones from Dr. Stacy Sims and there's some overlap, but I highly recommend both! Although she's focusing a lot on menapouse and active women, every woman should read this regardless of age or activity level. It's full of information about how women's bodies work, how we change over time, what we can do to stay healthy and active throughout different life stages. Both books have a great combo of theory and practical advice around nutrition and physical activity with detailed plans and examples. Review: Excellent well researched book - Written on behalf of my wife - What a good choice to buy this book. She tells me that as a post meno 60 yr young!! This is one of the BEST books she has read lately on life post meno. Good well thought out information backed up by recent research and set out well. A must read for any woman on exercise nutrition and how to prepare to live and age well and maintain a great quality of life. Vital reading for women
Very useful book for women especially in the 40 plus age range. Learnt a lot I had no idea about. Makes the local GP seem shamefully ignorant of menopause issues.

Good but mindfulness inaccurate
Great book with lots of in depth info on female physiology. However like most Americans she feels the need to say that mindfulness had been used to connect with God which is incorrect. It has its origin in Buddhism and is used to connect to yourself.

Are you a women over 40? Then you need to buy it
Every women over 40 should read this book. I am a big fan of Roar and after feeling premenopausal symptoms I bought this book. First section lots of recommendations of what to take for specific things. As usual even though this book is written in away for you to understand, it is still quite sciencie and requires a few re-reads. Next section, the bit I like most is what practically do I eat and train for premenopausal women. Lots of good advice here that is worth re-editing your training plan for. There is really not that much information out there for premenopausal women, especially for already active women. This book is packed with information. I don't agree on everything, I have found fasting beneficial as long as I work my training around it, but no one size fits all, and there are a lot of things I have taken away from this that is working.

Even as a beginner to exercise in my 50s I have found this useful
This is the most useful book I've read on the menopause. It has inspired me on my own fitness journey, helped me understand what's going on in my body so I can mitigate the effects of menopause, and empowered me feel confident again. One of the few books on menopause that doesn't assume you are mother, it's for all women. Read and re read this book.

Learned a great deal. As a 59 year old woman who started daily HIT workouts two years ago, this is a valuable resource for understanding how my body changed, what it needs, and how to implement processes, exercises, supplements, foods...pretty comprehensive. I dog eared, highlighted, and noted lots of pages. I started and was introduced to Stacy Simms through podcasts and then bought her book so I could sit with the information, have it at my finger tips and focus on my specific needs. Great book

This is a great read for any perimenopausal or menopause person looking to understand what’s happening with your hormones during this stage in your life as well as how to use that information to get your body to be strong. Has great info for women regarding intermittent fasting and how women’s bodies don’t respond like their male counterparts. Highly recommended.

This book is helping me educate myself about diet, supplements and exercise as a woman. I've had lots of aha moments while reading it. I'm sorry that older generations of women have had to endure so much.

Stacy Simms is top notch and this book didn't disappoint. Great review of the science, clearly explained and clear guidance for how to make changes in both my exercise routine and how to fuel more efficiently. A must-read for any active woman who is starting to struggle with those peri/post menopause changes.
