A creative art toy, but overpriced
This product is not a new one. Essentially, these are pieces of yarn that are coated in wax. Since wax is a semi-solid, it makes the string somewhat rigid until you bend and move it. This makes them ideal for creating various art sculptures and as a learning tool. I’ve seen it sold by another name, Monkey String.About 4 years ago, I saw something similar to these in a kindergarten classroom used for one of the classroom’s learning stations. Kids would use the pieces of waxed yarn to form letters or shapes by pressing them down on a table. They are slightly sticky, so they stick to each other and smooth surfaces fairly well. Not only can you do 2D art with them, but 3D as well. These work just as effectively as the ones I saw in the past, though they’re quite a bit shorter and skinnier. In any case, this particular product is assembled in a “party pack.” In the package you get 16 individual ziplock bags containing 12 pieces of string in 6 different colors. The prepackaged nature of the string makes it great as a party favor.I see the appeal but I don’t think they’re all that great a value. They’re a quality product but elsewhere on Amazon, you can get similar products with 4 or 5 times as many pieces for almost the same price or a little more. I suppose the main advantage here is that they are prepackaged as party favors so maybe that’s what’s being paid for here. In the end, look around a bit. There are more cost effective options available if you’re not looking for prepacked sets.

No mess arts and crafts. Great as gifts or on the go
Kids (3 and 5) loved these. Made for some very good creative play and building. At less than a dollar each these are great for goody bags, valentines, or just a great treat to have on hand for kids arts and crafts time. They are great in that they make no mess- so perfect for on the go, restaurants, etc.each set is individually wrapped and there are two wax strings of each color in each pack. You can easily reuse them many times and store in the plastic bag they come in- they don’t dry out or harden, and they are easy to pull apart and straighten again.Only downside is that it’s hard (for kids) to make objects in 3-d with these. They are just a little too floppy and not strong enough to stand without a parent helping. It’s easier to make 2-d shapes with these.Overall I’d recommend them.

Fun little party bag stuffer for crafty kids
This is really fun how it comes set up in little individual packages so that you can hand it out for a party or in little gift bags. It is a little nicer in some ways than pipe cleaners to use, because they don't have that piece of wire that can be a little unsafe near little ones. However, I'm also less excited about this potentially getting jammed into the carpet, so there's probably a sweet spot of what age of child you give this to for their crafting creations.I'm a big fan of providing a variety of interesting materials and letting my kids do creative things, and my son really enjoyed sculpting antennae on insects and robots, and making fancy corkscrew arms and fingers with it. He found it really exciting to work with, and the colors seemed a good fit for the type of crafting materials he was using, which is to say the standard mix of construction paper, craft feathers, etc.

Sticky Surface That Holds Onto Dirt and Lint
These Stringamajigs Art Wax Craft Yarn Sticks are fun for kids to play with for maybe an hour but after that I’m not sure how much use you’d get out of them. I am not sure what they’re made of but it is some weird wax stuff that leaves a residue on your hands. Outside of a party, I’m sure kids could use them to make some kind of art work as long as it doesn't touch anything because it is quite sticky. Maybe they are made that way to stick to pencils but it also sticks to dirt so your “art” gets dirty quick. For the fun of it I decorated a candle lighter. Unfortunately, it now picks up all kinds of dirt and lint that it comes into contact with and also leaves that weird waxy residue on my hands. Kids can get into everything so I cannot recommend this sticky product for kids outside of a party.

Good depending on what you use it for
These are great as a party favor, stuffer but if you want them for your home use for your children there are much better suited options. Love that you can put them in your diaper bag, on the go for travel, road trips, a one time use for entertainment but if you want them for your home for your children do play with there are better packaged packs, i feel like the 12 strings don't give the kid a lot of creativity options, just not enough yarn sticks. Probably better suited for the younger toddlers, but if your child is 6 and above 12 sticks just doesn't do much. Overall a great rating for a goody bag but would look into better options for your own children
