iFixit iOpener Tool Kit opening compatible with iPad screen tablet display lcd glass diy

I bought this kit to try and remove the cracked screen from an old cell phone. Based on other reviews, I was expecting to end up setting the iOpener aside in favor of a hair dryer, but after a little experimentation to figure out how how it needed to get and lot of patience, it actually worked pretty well. The rest of the prying and scraping tools worked as well as expected, and they mostly all came in useful at some point or another during the process. If I had a gripe it's that the swiveling top on the screw driver that's supposed to let you effectively turn in in place doesn't really spin very well. I didn't need it for this job, and I've got their nicer aluminum version already so this wasn't a big deal for me.

Awesome kit. Helped me in every facet of repairing my wife's Microsoft Surface Book. Replaced the screen and all the tools worked great with getting the old screen off, carefully disconnecting the wires and ensuring that nothing was damaged in the process. Heating roll doesn't stay hot too long, so you gotta move quick with the prying picks and opening tool. But great to have, incase you gotta repair any other tablets or cellphones.

Includes everything you could need to tear down a cell phone or tablet. I have used the heating pad twice already to remove a screen.

This was useful to help with an iPhone screen replacement. I wish it would have included a few additional commonly used bits, but it did what it was marketed for. It opened my phone I just couldn’t do anything else without the additional bits. I was working on an iPhone 7 Plus so being an older device I just assumed it would have the bits needed to at least remove the screen but I had to order the additional bit once I realized it. No big deal again the product was just to open it not replace anything. This iOpener mad the process go a lot easier. I was especially impressed that it could achieve a good suction even though my screen was completely shattered. I probably had my phone open in less than 10 minutes using this tool.

I used the iOpener to replace the screen on a Note8. It worked fine on the rear glass after a few minutes. The screen itself was a problem, it just couldn't get hot enough. I ended up using a hair dryer, and finished my job. I did produce some nice even heating, and for some phones with weaker or less glue, this thing may be hot enough. YMMV. The rest of the tool kit is nice though. It came with some nice hefty ESD tweezers, a nice big suction cup and all of the prying tools I needed.

Great quality, exactly what I expected no complaints. Very useful and makes screen removal so easy.

Habe das Set zum öffnen meines HP 850 G5 Notebooks gekauft um eine SSD-Festplatte nachzurüsten. Die Qualität des Sets ist wirklich sehr gut und das Gerät war nach wenigen Minuten demontiert. Bei der Recherche eines geeigneten Sets bin ich bei diesem hier gelandet, da mich der Umfang und Preis überzeugt hat. Komisch fand ich bei der Recherche der iFixit Produkten lediglich, dass die Preise der einzelnen Sets am Markt total chaotisch angeordnet sind. Oft kosten Sets mit weniger Umfang deutlich mehr, als größere Sets....

La panoplie idéale pour démonter tous les smartphones ! Un peu déçu de la qualité des outils d'ouvertures en triangles. Cependant, le reste est impeccable ! Utilisé pour démonter un Nexus 6P (Note de 2 de réparabilité) , sans problèmes et avec une difficulté moyenne. Bref, c'est un bon investissement ce kit !

Used repeatedly for removing the back of my old OnePlus 6 and replacing the battery. Easy to use and good selection of tools included. You just need some patience for the heated pad.

Non avendo una pistola ad aria calda ho scelto questo kit per l’apertura del tablet e relativa rimozione del display incollato. Scaldato l’opener nel microonde a massima potenza per circa 40 secondi. Raggiunta la temperatura tra gli 80 e 90 gradi (misurata con termometro a infrarossi) e posto sulla cornice del display non è stato complesso smontare lo stesso comunque con molta cura e attenzione. In definitiva, per me il prodotto è ottimo!
