Baby loves it! Here is what I did to avoid odor!
The baby loves this thing! I obviously have to monitor his time as this could be very tragic if the infant can't move there head from forward to side to side as it molds around baby so be aware of that! This is my tip to avoiding odor from water mildew smell, I add laundry soap a cap full and put it in my laundry soap has oxy clean in it so that may help my water is also not well water it's city water so those could be contributing factors I got it for him for Christmas and filled that day and it's April now still no odor at all! Hope this helps !!!

Would not recommend
This product has a strong plastic chemical smell I would not recommend this for an infant to lay on. I have washed it and the fumes have consumed the entire room.
