Sturdy, functional, the bungee takes effort to stretch, & the green is bright for visibility!
Excellent hands free lead for many reasons. Firstly, I use this for taking long walks with my Basenji-Rat Terrier mix (25lbs); I don't run with this lead. When walking, because the lead is a little heavy, I do have to support the lead a bit when walking so it doesn't go 'whap-whap-whap' against her -- this is truly no big deal as I tend to support any lead I use with her anyhow. The reasons this lead/leash is so functional & great:1/ Quality & sturdy material. 2/ Bungee: it actually takes effort to stretch it & even if it looks a bit stretched out, it seems to contract back to its original condition. (At least within this first month of use.) 3/ Bright green color: I chose this color and didn't realize how bright green it is, in a way that makes us very visible even at dusk. It's not reflective, but very bright, so still good for safety purposes. 4/ Detachable lead from waist belt: although I only use it as a hands free, it's such a functional option to be able to detach the main lead from the waist belt if needed. 5/ Enough D rings: I attach the main lead to the movable D ring, poop bags to a fixed ring, and there's one more. Enough functionality! 6/ Adjustable belt: in order to adjust the belt, it requires sliding though 2 pieces; initially a bit finicky, but it means that the belt stays secure & doesn't just slide & adjust itself over time. 7/ The traffic handle is placed in a good position to keep your dog close. Some traffic handles are just a bit higher & don't work as well for truly keeping a dog close, but Mighty Paw's is placed well. 8/The clasps are sturdy!A note about the clasp: My little rescue has been known to wiggle out of these clasps, but the smaller size version. I was a bit worried about the clasp since I've been using a Nifty Leash locking clasp, but Mighty Paw's clasps seem secure & sturdy; she hasn't wiggled in a way to get out of this clasp.Lastly, Before getting this Mighty Paw leash, I had purchased a less expensive, random brand hands free leash, but you definitely get what you pay for. The random brand one ripped inside the belt lining & the bungee stretched out within 3 wks; I returned it owing to the rip & the new exchanged one also lost the bungee tension & completely stretched out within 3 weeks. So kudos to Might Paw's quality & function!

Great leash! Although I prefer the Mighty Paw 4-foot leash over the 3-foot leash.
Initially I wasn't thrilled about this leash. I bought it because I run 5k races with my 65lb dog and wanted something hands free. This leash is 36-inches, which gives your dog enough room to run BY YOUR SIDE. If you like your dog to run in front of you then you'll find this leash to be too short, as I have and was constantly kicking the back of my dogs paws until he ran by my side. However,I find this leash is GREAT for walks. Mighty Paw does make a 48-inch version which I'm absolutely in love with! It's just long enough to run with your dog in front of you without accidentally kicking them. I did originally by an extender for the 3-foot leash, but find that the extra metal clip really weighs it down. From here on I'll review both leashes since I already mentioned the only difference. At first I thought the waist strap/belt would be uncomfortably, but I find it to be comfortable when running and very easy to adjust. It has a plastic quick release buckle (great safety feature!) and 2 metal loops, one sewn in near the buckle, then other you can adjust to place anywhere on the belt by sliding it. This is an excellent feature because you can take your dog off-leash and clip the extra end to the second loop. That way you can walk around with the leash hanging at your side and still remain hands free! This works great for trail running and still works well with the 4-foot leash even though it is slightly longer. The leash part itself has 2 metal clip ends which makes it very versatile. One end has bungee all the way down to the clip, the other end has a ~10 inch section of flat doubled leash so when you stop at a road or people are passing, you can reach down and use it as a handle to keep your dog really close to your side. Another function I love! This way I don't have a dog pulling me by bungee to greet people or other dogs. The bungee is protected by an outer layer that has reflective stitching throughout. At first glance it looks dull, but light reflects off it very well. The bungee is VERY STRONG. it has just enough give so if your dog takes off after a squirrel it won't snap like a regular leash, instead it will offer enough resistance to protect you and slow your dog down. My dog's first experience he found he could grab the leash in his mouth, jump off to the side really hard then let the bungee bounce him back into me. He played yo-yo like this for a good 15 mins, I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand! Again my dog is 65lbs, so yes it's a strong bungee and doesn't have any signs of being out-stretched.Bottom line: Mighty Paw made an awesome leash! If you like your dog by your side, buy the 3-foot. If you like him running ahead of you, wait until the 4-foot leash is on sale (I think at the end of this month?).

do not buy the black bottle with no D rings at the waist
I absolutely loved this leash at first my dog is not a huge polar and she is not very large, but the buckle the plastic inside the female part and could come cart part very easily. Also, the actual metal clip broke that attaches to the waste belt which I’ve never seen happen but this company extremely graciously took my email explaining how dangerous this was because I was disabled that if my dog got loose, I would not be able to chase her etc. and then I didn’t want anyone else’s dog to get run over, they replaced it with the version that is yellow with the clips or the rings of the waistband that basically prevent the dog from getting loose if the plastic buckle bends when they pullBUY THE YELLOW !!

Traffic handle isn’t perfect but the rest is pretty good
Really like both, they seem good quality! And I’m a professional dog walker so they get used heavily. The only thing I would improve is the location of the traffic handle, it can be a little hard to grab at times if the dog lunges so it would be easier if the handle was positioned slightly higher but overall pretty good leash, heavy duty and safe

Ging also zurück.

Bought the 3 ft leash and it's awesome. I like my dog to run beside me ...
Bought the 3 ft leash and it's awesome. I like my dog to run beside me and it's hard to find a leash they don't trip on. Very good quality although on my little dog the bungee is to tight to make a difference. Very good quality!

UPDATE:In the last 10 days , with both metal clips attached to the metal loops on the waist band THE CLIPS BOTH RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME. my dog was not pulling hard just scenting on a boulevard. He is almost 11 years oldthe plastic buckle on the waist band remained intact, but both the metal clips slipped of both metal loops AND THIS MEANT MY DOG WAS NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING! he was free to run into traffic, after a skunk or in front of a vehicle.luckily my dog is extremely good at staying near me and listens to verbal communication. he did not run nor bolt but staying right beside me. I can not trust this product anymore and will look for a more reliable brand.I will not use it againmy suggestion: do not purchaseI've had this leash for a few days and only used it this morning.I like the colour, tis bright so won't be left behind in a off leash area.waist band is comfortable and fairly easily adjusted.leash clips seem sturdyhand grips are placed wellbungee has some give but not too muchthis leash doesn't drag in the middle and touch the ground, nice!HOWEVERand this is fair warningWAISTBAND ISSUEyou ***MUST clip your end of the leash to the double metal rings that are on top of the quick snap plastic buckle. seriously a must doI have a 10 year old, admittingly a fit almost 11 year old 33kg Lab, who can pull..but not that hard (was only to find a scent)So on rather busy street the plastic quick release buckle suddenly & unexpectedly released and was off my waist and on the ground !we had been walking for less than 10 minutes.I grabbed it upbuckle was not broken, it just released.luckily I have a very good boy who stayed beside me.Thus from now on, the 2 metal rings MUST be attached to the "human end" of the leashI unfortunately using it this way is NOT as comfortable and the waistband is less flexible (as in rotating around your waist, depending on which side your dog swings to).don't use the lone D ring to attach to leash to.*****my thinking is this has occurred previously and the 2 rings were added instead of just replacing a wonky, untrustworthy, flimsy plastic quick release buckle .if I had tested this in a store I probably would have passed .tired of returning items lately bought on Amazon that don't reach or exceed expectations.I'll have to use the rings for peace of mind. but I'm not thrilled .I've never ever ever EVER in 17 years of walking a dog (all Labs) had a buckle fail ! never
