This bamboo recipe holder is very easy to work. The back is hinged in two parts and the ‘bottom’ piece folds up and fits into a grooved out space thus holding the front recipe stand in place. I possibly could collapse if someone were to knock it hard enough and I might add that the two back pieces that are hinged are only held together by two brass hinges that are very small and not terribly strong. I say this because the first stand I received was broken because the back’s two pieces were broken where they were hinged together. This is the one weakness in the build of this stand.As long as the user keeps good care of they stand and does not knock it around or do anything to it that would cause it to fall to the floor, it would last a good number of years. My first stand arrived broken so if it were somehow mishandled shortly after manufacture it probably shows it is very easily broken.RECOMMENDED BUT WITH A WARNING THAT IT COULD EASILY BREAK DUE TO MISHANDLING

This recipe stand holder works perfectly for use with my cookbooks and with my tablet. Its stand fits perfectly in the back of the base, and the lip holds the thickest of cookbooks. The My Kitchen emboss is a very nice touch, making me smile every time I use it.
