Stylish, quality pen.
On the photo this pen look normal, like any other pen. When received it and unpacked, I literally said "wow, that's called quality, push pen".. personally I never had any that exclusive pens and now see the difference... this pen is heavy, made of metal, covered with tyre looking rubber for good grip. One smooth spin on top of the pen makes it ready to use. It writes smoothly, in black ink. On the lower part of the pen is branded logo visible Hugo Boss. Overall I really like this pen, is made with high precision, is great quality. It can make lovely gift to "pen crazy" person. Pen comes in stylish gift box. Impressive quality.

A very personal choice
At this end of the pen market, a product has to exude quality and desirability from every pore, from the packaging to the product. Because it's really just a pen in the end and does only what a 50p biro does perfectly well, except of course make you feel good. This Hugo Boss ticks all the feel-good boxes: it comes in fancy (if 'merely' cardboard) packaging, with a slip case, and a deep box with a magnetic closure and a silk ribbon within to hold the pen in place. The pen is so black it's strangely hard to see it properly, which stops you taking much pleasure in its construction and details compared with more obviously glitzy pens, but the feeling of solidity is undeniable. When you pick it up the first time you'll be surprised by the weight, and you'll probably be pretty pleased with the silky-smooth twist action to expose the tip of the pen and the super-smooth ink flow that's as good as anything I've tried. The thing is, that at this level, any tiny imperfection will niggle, and there are one or two things... The main one for me is the balance of the pen, which has all its weight at the top near the clip. Keeping the pen upright against this weight is something you're conscious of all the time you're writing, and I don't really like it. Your preference may be entirely different, but I think this is the issue most likely to sour your relationship with this pen. The other thing is the suspicion that the screw-off tip (for changing the refill), though brass lined, is made of plastic and the moulding of the Hugo Boss name looks a bit indistinct, rough even. Then you start to wonder if at this price you should have been given a spare refill in the fancy box...If you love the way this looks, and you're a fan of the brand, this isn't going to put you off I suppose, and I'm not trying to put you off, but I think there's great potential for buyer's remorse with this pen. Think carefully. Are you sure you don't really want that vintage Parker 51 instead? I think I might, but each to their own.

Overpriced but I have grown to love it.
Okay, so like any normal person, I like nice things. And, also like most people, I can't always afford top tier. So, when I'm offered the chance to test a pen that costs £106, of COURSE I'm going to do it.What can make ot worth that sort of money? How exciting. The answer is "nothing" really, it's still just a pen.Like any pen above £30, it comes in a very nice box with a two year warranty inside. The pen itself is "rubberised" arounf the body and extremely heavy. I'm not sure if, in the pen world, weight is meant to equal quality but at 51g, this is a beast. It is a twist top, to wind the nib in and out.Not sure if the insert can be swapped out but is also Hugo Boss and I expect the replacements won't be cheap. It writes nicely, but so do most pens.Frankly, it's a bit of a pointless novely item and I would be worried to take it out of thehouse in case it were to get lost or "borrowed".It's also vastly overpriced and this is what my score is meant to reflect. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the pen (if you don't mind the weight) but I'm not sure who in their right mind would spend so much on such a thing.EDIT: Okay, I am about to do a bit of a U-turn here. I still think this is way overpriced BUT it's a GREAT pen. I have added two more stars as it has become quite dear to me and I'd actually be very upset to lose it now. I love the weightiness and it writes so well. It also makes a handy gavel for getting attention during my team meetings. If you have cash to burn and want a great pen, this is the one!

Gorgeous
This is a weighted, sleek, black pen. It writes beautifully, and handles well, particularly for those who prefer a heavier pen in hand. The end has metal, so will be attracted to magnets, suiting those with magnetic pen holders. It comes in a smart black box, and would make a great gift.

Feels nice and premium
Beautiful pen. Feels nice and premium in the hand.I love the tyre tread effect, really nice to grip. Got a nice weight to it, I will be using this!

Disappointing
Sorry but extremely disappointed with this item. Talk about paying for a name!Although the pen barrel is covered to look like a car's tyre, it is not easy to hold because the balance is all wrong. The weight of the pen is towards the back end of the pen, meaning, if you relax your fingers during writing, you can easily drop it.I've not bothered to add a photo as it's hard to show up any feature (as their own photos also cannot)If I were to pay a third of the [rice it's offered, I would still have been disappointed
