The item itself is indeed really small and only built to make a single decent cup of coffee
Owner of a traditional 12 cup coffee maker, it was a black and decker and a big ole hefty machine that was far to excessive for what I needed as I was the only one in my household who drunk coffee and in big amounts ( 3-4 cups a day). That machine broke a while back and after it did I ended up with a lot of space that I could use for something else like a toaster oven I had sitting, but I still needed a coffee maker so I searched and eventually found a 5-cup coffee maker that seemed fine for my taste and with amazons help in its suggestions bar I found this coffee maker and read the reviews and took a liking and bought it.Official Review-The coffee maker is indeed small and can fit a cup or really small travel mug like the one provided, at most the machine can hold 16 oz of water. The coffee maker is plastic all around and is decently sturdy especially the top cover and the water hose, the provided cup however isn't as great. The cup is slightly above average cup from the ones you would find at the dollar store, it is plastic from the inside and a tin metal cover from the outside, the mugs cover is plastic and is fine, nothing great to mention, and most of all the cup will retain heat for a while. The coffee maker itself brews a nice hot cup, and as everyone knows will make stronger coffee with the more grinds you put into its strainer. The strainer! it's a great addition like others of its kind, it is thin and comes with 2 parts, the strainer itself and a cover that is removable that concentrates the coffee to the center. The second part being removable is a better addition as I don't want a lingering coffee smell in the coffee maker as I also brew tea in it from time to time. The operation for this and some internal stuff is that all this thing requires is a single button. Seriously no programming all you do is click a button and if you really want auto brew just set everything up the night before and wake up in the morning to click the button, it auto detects when the water in the tank is finished and it'll stop by itself. There is no heating element to keep the cup warm, so as soon as the coffee comes out either drink or cover it up to retain some of the heat, the base of the coffee maker is plastic and the whole unit itself is pretty light in weight. That is all I can think of for the moment but I bought a black model and have been using it for about 10 days since I've written this review. This is also the first of its kind (small single serve coffee makers) that I've used so I have no knowledge on similar coffee makers like these or k-cup only on big batch coffee machines like Bunn or Black and Decker.

9 months later, still working great
I've been using this little coffee maker for about 9 months now - and it has been fantastic. I would buy it again in a heart beat. I absolutely love everything about it. Simple to use, and very simple to clean. I am very diligent about wiping it down after each use - I wash both the reusable mesh filter and the containing cup after each use, and i lightly wipe down the inside (especially the underside of the top) where water and condensation have naturally collected. Then I leave the top open and let it air dry until next use. I use it to make either one or two cups almost every morning. The cup too is a joy - it stays nice and warm, but isn't too hot to the touch, even right after the coffee is made. If there was *ONE* thing I would change, though, it would be the little black stoppers on the underside that keep it from slipping. I have granite kitchen counters, and sometimes they will "stick" to the countertop, and dislodge from the unit. I've lost one of the little buggers that way, but it is still stable even with just one of them in place. With both missing, it becomes a problem (I know because I tested it this way) as it would lean forward slightly, possibly causing some spillage if the reservoir was too full. Anyhow, regardless of that tiny flaw, I still give this things five stars. It's perfect for a small, single-person coffee maker that doesn't take up much counter space and can be easily relocated. Good product, good design, good price, one tiny flaw. I really do highly recommend it.

Makes hot Coffee fast āāš
I like this compact coffee maker a lot. I think it makes a good cup of coffee. It heats up the water in 20 seconds there is no waiting for the water to boil it takes me 3 minutes to make a 10oz cup of coffee. I really like that I can use my regular coffee grounds I drank for years (Maxwell the best) and not have to buy (in my opinion only) the over priced k cup there great but really I like being able to make the coffee as strong as you like. I also like the little basket strainer in a removable basket holder this really makes it easy to clean I should say rinse because that all it takes. The travel coffee cup that comes with it is handy to have fit's prefect in cupholders of car/van and if you are camping or RV' ING it it use very little wattage to operate you can even use it to preheat hot water for cooking soups, noodles, stew's before boiling it on the stove it saves a lot of gas/propane elec. Stove consumption when traveling. Just remember to bring a elec inverter. Mines is a 700/1400 Watt running on auxiliary 12v 100amp lifepor4 lithium battery I can make and drink cup's ('s) of coffee watch news on tv (19"led) have DC lights on and still have 1/3 of battery Left before I trun on engine to recharge auxiliary battery with a on broad 20amp DC/Solar to DC charger. How nice is that coffee on the go when ever you feel like it š.

Easy, convenient, reliable
I had been brewing two cups of coffee in my Cuisinart 12 cup drip coffee maker. I purchased this AdirChef almost a year ago. It takes less space, is easier to use, makes great coffee, and the cleanup is much easier than my Cuisinart because there is no pot to wash. The mug keeps coffee warm for a long time. Finally, the price is right.
