Absolutely not price gouging! General rule of thumb for Lego is between $0.11 and $0.14 per piece which would land the price for this particular set between $999.90 and $1,272.60. This right here is exactly why Lego doesn't make very many EPIC large scale sets. The price per piece I mentioned and calculated has been the average fair price for ALL sets since the 90's. If you can't afford it, then don't shop for Lego. Look for something less expensive instead of attacking a seller for "gouging while asking less than the long standing fair per piece price.

Does it come with enough lifeboats?

It comes with 16 lifeboats. Is that enough? Hard to say.

No, it does not float in water. https://youtu.be/eb2Fuor2QIc

Lie much? says the list price is $1,199! lololol!!!! i got this w weeks ago, direct from lego for the list price of $629.00.

There are many vendors trying to sell the Titanic on Amazon for varying amounts. You just have to watch for a good price.
