Bad Boy Player: A Brother's Best Friend Romance

I hated all of the main characters. The hero, the heroine, the brother, the mother, the father. Everyone was so mean to one another. But Mrs. Quinn wanted us to believe that they loved each other so much. I didn’t believe it. You started to see a little toward the end of the story, but nothing happened leading up to the change in their behavior. It just changed. There was also so much cheating. The only couple that didn’t cheat were the parents. It was continuous and turned me off the characters even more. I wanted them all to catch horribly uncomfortable STDs that would last for months to teach them to be faithful when you make a commitment to someone😂😂😂If you enjoy reading about cheating jerks, spineless women that put up with it, and confusing Australian lingo coming from Americans then this book is for you. I’m not that person so I will not recommend this book.

The toxicity in this book was gross. I felt skeeved out for the majority and it didn't start showing actual romance until like 80% of the book. I wish I would have read the reviews because I hate cheating. and the damage they kept doing to each other over and over was disgusting. There was no trust just jealousy constantly and then boom love... Of some kind since there were still toxic things happening even with them getting married. Then the brother... He was an idiot and also a hypocrite. The parent had moments where I liked them but then just added to the negativity. Then can we talk about the fact that a 16 year old was at a grown up LA party?! Idk. There wasn't very much redeeming qualities in this book except it was written well. The story itself made me feel dirty and not in a good way.

This Is a really good book from Kat T. Masen. Emerson is a reality tv star that's engaged to her costar Wesley and is used to having her life run by her team. She finds living life in front of the camera is becoming harder and harder. She thinks Wesley is her only salvation only to find out he has been cheating on her with another woman when he is caught by the hungry paparazzi who made sure to let the news fly. When Emerson heads home to escape the heavy attack of the paparazzi, and while there she happens to spend some time with her brother and their childhood friend Logan. Growing up the three of them were always together and up to mischief together. Logan has been around for as long as she can remember but he has always been like a brother to her, until now... Emerson and Logan have this love/hate relationship but Logan sees how Emerson needs support during this trying time Logan is there to help get her mind off her troubles. Emerson and Logan have this intense sexual chemistry and I loved reading how their relationship goes. This is a hot falling for your brother's best friend story with the added twist of the reality show dramarama, Logan and Emerson have to go thru a lot of drama and angst to get their HEA but what a great romance it is. There is drama, tension, heartbreak, heartache, angst, forbidden love , passion and love. This is a great story and I cant wait to see what Ms. Masen has coming up next.My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

Kicking Reality by Kat T. MasenEmerson Chase has lived in the spotlight through a reality T.V. show, and now soon to be married to handsome, smooth talker Wesley Rich. Everything was scripted with T’s crossed and I’s dotted as cameras trained on her and the relationship 24/7. Until word hit that Wes wasn’t as faithful as it seemed. As magazines and paparazzi’s get more dirt about Wesley’s side piece, Emerson escapes back home. It was suppose to help her get a break from all the flashing lights and cameras in her face, but instead she comes face to face with her childhood friend. Logan.What could possibly go wrong… right?Kicking Reality was an interesting story, but I can’t help, but also roll my eyes. A lot of mix feelings throughout the read. Perhaps, I’m being picky, but it’s just how I felt when reading this story. However, I did enjoy the easy friendship/ banter that went on between the two characters as you got to know them. Especially seeing Emerson away from the lights and camera, for the most part. It’s sorta hard for both, reality and sports star to fully get peace and privacy… With that being said, I don’t feel like their relationship (as they built one) was exactly healthy. Mrs. Masen has done it again!! I have never read a book that deals with reality shows. She has really shown us what occurs behind the cameras / the scenes and how they splice / cut out the scenes that will not bring in good ratings.Emerson was smart, beautiful and a go getter. Logan was dedicated to his career (as a soccer player) and a woman’s man. Emerson’s brother (Ash) was also dedicated to his career and was a woman’s man as well. However, Ash made one mistake...Surprise. Emerson and Ash’s parents were excellent parents to them both, as well as to Tayla (their sister) and Logan (whom they raised as one of their own).Emerson and Wesley were headed for fame and wealth. Until, Wesley couldn’t contain his urges. This broke the trust of Emerson and their relationship. The Producers didn’t care. All they cared about were the ratings and keeping the ratings high.Farrah (the plastic Barbie) was horrible. She never had anything good to say about anyone, unless it was about herself. And her father was wrong for condoning her excessive plastic surgery.Poppy was a true friend to Emerson and she understood Emerson’s plight. Now as to her and her new love (Not trying to spoil the surprise)...I’m not sure about that.CONS: We are not told of the end result of Alessandra and Ash’s situation.

When i started Kat T Masen binge i added everything of hers to my tbr and this one has been sitting for a while …..when finding myself in a book slump i picked this up after trying numerous different books…. what i didn’t expect was to be totally and completely captivated ! some reviews had put me off but this just proves what someone else isn’t sure on someone else loves …and man did i love Emerson and Logan … i loved the secrecy, the intense chemistry, the drama, the steam and passion , the humour, their witty flirty banter.I laughed i cried, i got angry, i got butterflies and i got hot 🤪….Friends to lovers but it comes out of nowhere. the unexpected love is always the best as these two find their journey knocks them sideways.Em is a strong independent woman who lives in the spotlight and what she has to put up with for the sake of TV life really infuriated me.She’s funny too. her banter with Logan had me laughing and grinning from ear to ear.She’s playing with fire but it only makes the story more interesting because these two are fire !Logan is the cheeky playboy, but behind that front we see a gentle loving guy and Em brings out these feelings he only thought he’d had previously once.Logan is hot and them bedroom antics will leave you needing to cool down!

Talk about a roller coaster of a ride, Kicking Reality was so utterly addictive from the very start & so well written, that it really did feel like I was living & breathing their story for reals. Friends to lovers, with the craziest of complications helped deliver one exceptional 5 star read.In True Kat style it had the humour that makes you cackle, the sexapades that make you drool, the tenderness that makes you swoon & last but not least, the angst that will have you chewing your arm off never mind your fingernails, because gawd will Logan & Emerson pull you every which way but loose. They will drive you wild, drive you crazy, drive you to violence but in the end drive you happiness.Logan & Emerson have been friends for ever & it's a friendship that comes as easy as breathing. As their feelings start to change & emotions come into play, I loved how their chemistry flew straight off the charts, as they pushed each other's buttons & hearts to the limit.But it's not just this crazy pair I fell in love with, because the secondary characters rocked it too. Hell even Wes tugged at my heart a little.. but not for long lol. Each of them added depth & personality to this story, bringing their own feels to the party, leaving me with a firm list of who I hope gets their story next!!I will mention the sneaky bombshell that slides in when you least expect it.. Toying with my mind & hurting my heart a little as I'm left wondering how or if, it will be another story Kat will tell. And then the ending... well that gave my a lumpy throat as well a genuine wide happy smile. I can only hope we get a book #2 from what may well be my fav Kat couple!!

Oh this is so angst y.A friends to lovers romance with a lot of angst thrown in.Emerson Chase is part of a big TV reality show with her partner Wesley, they are the "IT" people on the TV screens of America.Cameras follow them around everywhere and nothing is private which begins to take it's toll on Em.When Wesley is caught cheating in Amsterdam and caught on camera that's it for Emerson, shes done but the show bury all evidence and for the sake of the show and contracts Em and Wesley have to carry on in their now pretend relationship including being engaged and planning a wedding until the end of the season.When Emerson visits her parent's her brother who is a football player is also back home along with his team mate and childhood best friend Logan.No one knows about Emerson and Wes's separation and what Em is going through only Logan.Things get heated one night, things begin to get complicated and Emmerson and Logan start to fall more for each other in their secret relationship.Childhood friends, Logan is pretty much a part of the family and has to keep his feelings hidden especially when he has to watch Em on screen every week looking loved up.From man-whore to a one woman guy. Kicking Reality is an angsty journey but an entertaining read that I enjoyed.Told in first person dual pov & leads to a happy for now ending. I wanted more, Emmerson and Logan because they only got together properly at the end and I would have liked a full hea.My first book by Kat T. Mason and I followed the story with ease, quickly getting into the lives of the characters and I would definitely read more. ​

Logan has been Emmy's brother's best friend since forever. So much so, that he is just part of the family.Until one night everything changes between Logan and Emmy.I really enjoy reading brother's best friend trope stories and this one is great.There's angst, friends- with-benefits and secret dating.It's also nice and spicy.Great easy read and I'll be looking at getting some more books from Kat in the future.
