Niewalda PU50 Quick Release Plate Arca Swiss Plate with 1/4" Slotted Screw

This review is for the Niewalda Universal Tripod Quick Release Plate PU50 package of 2. Not sure how to review an item like this camera mounting plate, so here's what I know. It's black with 4 rounded rectangle rubber pads on the top of the plate. Measured dimensions are 50.0mm L x 37.8mm W x 10.0mm D. The groove indentation is approx. 32.9mm measured across the short side. So the side indentation groove is approx. 2.45mm deep. It comes with some extra mounting screws and 3/8" to 1/4" adapters. I use the D-ring screw and it works as you would expect. My reason for the downgrade to 4 stars is the D-ring screw head is a bit on the small side (11.4mm) and requires more tightening to prevent full frame heavier camera bodies like the Canon 5D-Mk-IV from pivoting on the plate. It works OK with smaller and lighter camera setups. My concern on the full-size camera is having to tighten the D-Screw to the point that the camera base threads strip out. I will purchase some proper sized D-Screws for $4 to $5 each to solve the problem. My application is on a Pergear TH3 Pro Tripod Ball Head. The Pergear plate is 50mm x 40mm measured across the top. The grooved sides of the plate are offset with the bottom 2mm more narrow at 38mm. The Niewalda plate mounts mounts on the Pergear quick release with no problem. An Arca Swiss plate that looks the same costs about $65 in the USA. I can't imagine what paying 10 times more for the same plate will buy me. YMMV

these plates are decent but the little screws on the bottom need to be removed for most Sirui heads. Also ths arca compatible plate has bit of lip thickness issue - it is tapered to a point where it almost doesn't catch on the arc head. they are more than fine for the price and use for inconsequential cameras.

I finally found an arca swiss plate the fits my gear. I had to order several others and return them as they did not fit. Lots of venders do not give you all the information you need to fit😵‍💫🤦‍♂️. This one did. Amazon needs better search engine to be more specific on narrowing down sizes. Or a better FILTER search to limit what size you are looking for. For example if you need a 6” stick. And you search for one it shows sticks from 1” to 16” to 26” etc etc. why not have it in the filter to only show a variable size range that the one you ate looking for fits into??!! Computers make our lives easier lets start now in making it so. These plates fit my gear and I love the multi attachment type screws. The plate adheres to the bottom of my camera very well with the pads on top. It doesnt twist around. Great plates for my use

Perfect for a medium weight full frame, not cumbersome when shooting hand held and solid when using a tripod.

These are exactly as you expect. But on first attempt, it seems the screws provided don't go through the slots. But they have to be perfectly positioned and threaded through the slots to work. Then they are great!

I purchased these quick disconnect plates to use with a Vanguard tripod. They work very well, as intended, once I removed the two bottom hex screws which -- in my case -- are not required. I would buy again from this supplier.
