I would say it is a little expensive for what it is but I did not have any of the install issues other reviewers mentioned. I was able to get things nearly perfectly level without any sort of tweaking. The painting will protrude from the wall about 1/4" or so which is perfectly normal - the hinge is very difficult to see as it is recessed from the edge and shadowed. My only complaint is that the hinge itself is not the smoothest thing in the world - it will creak when moving around even if you oil it. A couple tips here to share from my install to get it all nice and level: *Choose a nice painting with a good solid wood frame that won't sag when being supported from one side. I bought a 24"W x 36"T canvas from ZLinSigns on Etsy for under $100. I think with anything wider than about 36" people would have issues with it sagging to whatever side the hinge is not on. That is just how physics works.... *Use a laser level to line up the top and bottom alignment fixtures so you have a nice and level alignment between the two hinges. A really long level could work as well. *I prefer to use the Hillman Duolock drywall anchors instead of the included self-drilling ones. I find the self drilling ones tend to end up off center of where you mark which will then throw off your alignment. *Use a needle oil applicator to put a few drops of oil on each hinge for smoother operation.

Nicely designed hinge. It works perfectly well in covering a wall safe. We had to 'build up' the edges of our chosen picture frame, since our safe had an exterior number pad raised above the level of the wall. But, if anything, that helped is install the hinge, since it gave more room to work with. The box contains templates, but you'll definitely want to go to the manufacturers website and watch the video a few times. We paused it at critical moments as we completed each step, since it is not intuitively obvious what to do. But, follow along closely and you should be ok. It's expensive, but it works, and at the end of the day, you'll have a nicely concealed safe or whatever, and that makes it worth it 100%. Recommended.

Works really well. Does what it says. The instructions despite being robust were a little confusing--it took me quite a while to figure out front and back--let me be clear this is not an "anybody can install product". Consider any mistakes you might make will wreck your wall of picture frame. Additionally, you might have to augment your picture frame... they assume a really thick wood frame and in my case I wanted to use a mirror with a thin metal edge. To be fair i did not look online for videos...if they have them it would be great. I also with the magnetic clasp had a thickness variant...my install put it about 1/16th of an inch off the wall and the magnet barely touches--but still holds.

Worked great to hide the opening to my (unfinished) storage area. The instructions could use a little work - I needed a much larger drill bit for the magnet anchors than stated - but overall it was easy to install and works as advertised. The artwork looks just as it did before I cut the hole behind it and installed the hinges.

I read reviews and was concerned, but the issues I had were related to my chosen frame, not the product. Watch the video and refer back to it. Make sure your frame is the minimum width at the edges (ours was a little thinner there, so we ended up needing to use washers and moving the templates in 1/4" to a wider spot). Also be sure any artwork is flush (ours wasn't, so we had to remount it). This is for sure a 2-person job, but we used the templates and followed the instructions exactly and the measurement guides were perfect. Once we got it on the wall, there was no need to adjust it. Our magnet looked different from the video (a bar vs a circle), but the felt was a circle, so I cut it. We ended up screwing in each magnet, not sticking them, but that was easy. One of the hinges squeaks a bit, but we'll see if it works itself out. Expensive, but exactly what we needed and works exactly as described.

Would definitely get this again. It is pretty thin, but it needs to be for its purpose. Installation was not that bad. You just have to be careful and methodical. Mine hold up a large picture in a thick, homemade wooden frame (probably 2' wide by 5' tall, weighing a total of 30 lbs)

I searched high and low to find hidden hinges that would work on a canvas art frame and these absolutely did not disappoint. They are sturdy, truly hidden, and worked exactly as promised. They open and close smoothly and the instructions included for installation were clear, concise, and accurate. I highly recommend this product for concealed storage behind artwork.

This is a good idea and the instructions provided for the installation are very well made. I like the fact they provide a template both for your frame and the wall. A lot of precisions is required through the installation but this should also correspond to a precision "pretended" in the manufacturing of each element. It is not the case! The manufacturing quality of these hinges is not good and you realize this only after the installation (when you cannot go back and return the items any more!). In my case, one of the hinges does not close properly and leave a gap which is not aesthetically pleasant at all. The other hinge does not leave this gap. The reason of the gap is because the two hinges are not exactly equal in their axis of rotation and when you open/close your frame there is a little offset in the curving radius of the two. Definitely for such an amount of money considering that what you are getting is a couple of small and thin steel plates, you should expect much more attention in the manufacturing process and a better Quality Control. I do not recommend them!
