Great set for watching TV without bothering others
Pros: As long as you read the directions, getting the transmitter/receiver combo working is a snap. I have the transmitter hooked up to an early Samsung smart TV (series 5205/525D). I plugged in the transmitter power cord to the TV and the 3.5mm audio cable to the TV audio out. I did recharge the receiver just to be sure. I plugged a pair of wired headphones (pretty cheap ones) into the receiver, turned on the TV and muted it, turned on the receiver, and finally turned on the transmitter. Voila` -- TV sound in the earphones. I found the range to be excellent, with no breaking up even when it was transmitting 20 feet and through a layer of sheet rock.I do suggest, however, that you read the user manual and not just the quick start page. The manual has nice diagrams showing the location of the various controls and plugins. I did find one inaccuracy in the manual section entitled "Standalone Use of the Transmitter": you need to press the MFB in the ON state for 5 seconds, not the OFF state. Otherwise, I found the manual to be readable and very helpful. Some nitnoy (or nit noi if you prefer) complaints:1) The sticky stuff meant to hold the transmitter base to a surface partially comes off when you peel of the backing,2) I paired my standard Bluetooth headphones (ones I use with my Samsung Galaxy -- yobola Bluetooth Headphones, Wireless In Ear Sports Earbuds Sweatproof Earphones Noise Cancelling Headsets with Mic, 12 Hours Play Time ) but the signal broke up a lot, and the earphones disconnected and reconnected frequently. Now, granted these earphones were cheap and did not have aptx, but they worked fine with my smart phone. I don't know how other Bluetooth headphones will fare.If you want to listen to TV without bothering others, and you have some wired headphones lying around, this Avantree set will do the job. Although I have only had this set for a couple of days, I recommend it. If the reliability holds up, I'll try to update this review in a few months.

Love It; Getting Incredible Quality, Sync'd Sound in Both Pairs of Headsets!
I'd read a recommendation of this Avantree product on one of the tech web sites which has nothing to sell but free advice. It made me infinitely more aware of what to look for if I wanted to watch my Bluetoothless TV with Bluetooth headsets. I never expected I'd shell out $45 for a gizmo to do this. Their advice was excellent in recommending this model, and I've been happy with the results to have spent that. Other reviewers have commented that there are cheaper ways to do this. But I'm betting that considering the reliability, simplicity in its setup, and quality of the signal, that everyone who buys it will agree it's a good value anyway. If you try hooking it up using the two RCA audio outputs (L & R) on your TV, you may discover what I did. I didn't get any sound to the headsets. So I tried hooking it up using the 3.5 MM output jack, and that worked perfectly (All cables are supplied, by the way.). Perhaps there's a TV setting you need to enable, so that the sound is ported to the RCA outputs? If so, I couldn't find any. Anyway, I've now hooked up two pairs of headsets and they work perfectly, both taking advantage of the headsets' aptX.The range is apparently very good. Although our condo isn't large, it worked perfectly anywhere and on either floor.I'm sorry Dr. Corallo (below) had the experience with Avantree that he did. I've used Avantree's online chat service and they answered my question immediately and thoroughly. I admit that my question was simple compared to his, and it wasn't for a problem I was having. I just had a technical question re aptX and my headsets. So if you don't mind spending nearly fifty bucks on this item by the time you're done paying the sales tax, I really do recommend it. BTW, kudos to Amazon; I don't have Prime and it was delivered the day after I ordered it.Dan Kap,Whittier, CA

The cables are pretty long (2x-3x as long as I needed)
This bluetooth transmitter works well. I am using with Sony WH-CH700N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones, Blue (WHCH700N/L) headphones. Pairing was simple. The sound is clear. If I still have the TV sound on, the sound almost overlays each other. With the TV sound off, it appears perfectly synchronized.Everything is included in the box. It is powered by a micro-USB cable (included). I plugged it into a USB port on the TV. Sound is through a 1/8" phono jack. A cable is included, as well as an RCA-jack splitter, which I used with my TV. The back of the transmitter has double sticky tape. The cables are pretty long (2x-3x as long as I needed). My biggest complaint is its status-LED and power switch. The power switch is tiny, and hard to find. The status LED is bright and blinks blue. This is ok when the TV is on, but is annoying with the TV off. I will try covering it with a piece of tape.Recommended.
