Great Upgrade for My Ridgid R4231
The media could not be loaded. I bought this laser to upgrade my Ridgid R4231 miter saw, and it worked perfectly! Installation was easy, and the alignment is spot on. The laser makes cutting faster and more accurate, which really improves workflow.Under direct sunlight the beam isnโt visible, but thatโs expected for this kind of laser โ it performs great indoors or in shaded areas.Overall, Iโm very satisfied, especially since I got the saw at a great price. This upgrade was totally worth it. Highly recommended!

What a Welcome Upgrade to My Nearly 15 Year Old Makita LS1013 Mitre Saw
I received this laser disk today. I couldnโt wait to try it on my 15? year old Mikita LS1013 mitre saw. Last week I replaced the guide rule on the saw base as my cuts were off due to the old guide no longer being straight. I put up with that for long enough. That alone certainly helped renew my trust in my saw, and now adding this red laser to the blade - well it is just an amazing upgrade. It is spot on, easy to see and there were no issues in installing it. None. I read previously that someone with same saw had to file something down slightly to make it fit. Maybe that was a previous version of this disk. Again this fit my saw like a charm. Thank you. I had thought I have to buy a new saw, thatโs not the case anymore.

Worked.....with modification
Many times on my old (30yrs) Dewalt DW-705 Miter saw I had wished there there was a laser to pinpoint the exact cut line, like most modern miter saws have. I've seen the ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง ๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ on Amazon for a long time and finally decided to try it on my DW-705. In past reviews I've read some comments about the laser housing being too thick and rubbing against the blade guard housing. Ohslun mentioned that this newer model was thinner and fit more saws so I thought I'd give it a try. Installation was as simple as removing the orginal spacer and replacing it with the I tightened down the blade retaining bolt and fired up the saw. My first reaction was well, the laser works, looks accurate but it was making a heck of a noise and seemed to be vibrating a little. I stopped and unpluged the saw and removed the laser guide. On close inspection of the laser guide I could see that something was rubbing against it (flub). I completely removed the blade guard to see what the situation was by removing the 3 T30 torx screws holding the blade guard assembly to the saw. What I discovered was that the laser guide was rubbing in one little area of the blade guard housing. Now that the laser guide had scrape marks on it I couldn't return it so I started thinking about a fix to see if I could add some clearance between the ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง ๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ and the blade guard housing. The fix was easier than I figured it would be. One little flat washer mounted at the front and the rear blade guard mounting screws in such a way as to add ๐๐๐๐ enough clearance between the blade guard and the ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง ๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ so that there was no more rubbing between the two surfaces. I Fired up the saw again and this time everything was nice and smooth with a clearly visible red line at the point of the cut. (I purposely positioned the laser line ๐๐๐๐ a bit off the pencil line to show everything is square). Lastly, I also discovered that a "thin kerf" blade may need no modification at all as I noticed more clearance between the ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง ๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ and the blade guard.

Should have bought this much sooner
Works great on the Bosch Axial glide. Really not seeing any issues or downsides. Easy install, laser turns off when rpms are low enough, dead accurate out of the box.

Poor quality and short battery life
Miter saw laser guides work great on both miter saws and redial arm saws. They work by shining a thin laser on the side of the cut line. It is mounted on the arbor next to the blade. When the saw blade spins the centrifugal force causes the beam to shin and when the blade stops spinning the beam switches off. This is great for lining up your cut to the blade and for checking the alignment of the saw.I bought two of these guides. Both guides displayed a convenient line for cutting. The line was bright enough indoors but difficult to see in the bright sun. I expected this. I noticed that on both of my saws the laser light stayed on after the blade stopped spinning and eventually turned off. This situation was not always noticeable unless the blade stopped so that the laser beam shined down on the table. There is no on/off switch except for the internal one built into the unit. The only way to manually turn off the beam is to remove the laser guide, dust cover and batteries. The construction of this product is poor. The case that covers the batteries and laser unit is pressed sheet metal. The center of the cover that slides over the arbor has rough edges that hung up on the arbor threads when I installed the devices. By spinning guide like a nut I was able to thread them onto the arbor.I have been using these laser guides for six months and both devices have stopped working. I removed the units from my saws, checked the batteries and all the batteries were dead. I suspect it is because the beam stayed on after I finished my cut.Wood working is a hobby for me. I am not using my equipment on a daily basis. After six months of use the batteries should not be dead. I have the Irwin Miter Saw Laser Guide installed on a compound miter saw. This laser guide is still working after eight years. I have changed the batteries once in this device. Unfortunately Irwin does not make a guide for a 5/8โ arbor.I would not recommend this guide because of the poor quality and short battery life.
