Good boresighter for the money
Worked quite well to help zero in my PU sniper, which only required very minor adjustments after using this to get me close to zero. It is annoying that the batteries have to be taken out to turn it off, which necessitates keeping the plastic packaging it comes in, but for an item I'll rarely use, it's good enough.

Good unit: ships fast, works as advertised, but my own experience is worth noting...
Works as advertised. This is for my Mosin Nagant. I know other reviewers have stated that you must not close the bolt when using this unit, because it may misalign due to the nature of the bolt's grabbing onto the rim at the base. However, my own experience was that the laser unit simply would not stay in place when I installed it! It would tip from one side to the other, or just fall out.I decided to close the bolt. What do you know? It held the laser unit firmly in place while I sighted in. Furthermore, I didn't have to resort to tapping the laser unit out with a cleaning rod. I just opened the bolt slowly and removed the unit from the bolt end, where it was clasped firmly in place.Remember, folks, this is just intended to get you *close* to a sight-in with your scope. You're going to have to get a target onto the range at 100 yards, put ammo in it, and shoot the rifle to finish the process.Take the batteries out when you're done, or the unit may turn itself on due to ambient vibrations. It is possible to go on Ebay or Amazon and buy a scad of replacement batteries for mere dollars, so don't worry too much about battery life. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that it doesn't come in green! A green laser would permit use in full daylight, whereas this laser's red dot gets lost pretty quickly in bright sunlight. Choose a cloudy day to use this on the range, if you can. Works very well there.

Not Bright Enough to Be Useful
It fits well inside the chamber (don't close the bolt on it though, it'll get stuck!). At first, the laser beam looks pretty bright, but on an overcast day in TX I couldn't see the red dot at 50 yards. The instructions do suggest 25 yards for the sighting distance, but none of the ranges here would even let me sit down with my rifle at a 25 yard station. Let alone, I'm not really sure who sights in a scope at 25 yards? At 25 yards I could stick the bayonet on the end of my Mosin-Nagant and toss it like a javelin at a deer or wild hog. I definitely would not need a scope that close.Pros: It fit and turned on. It produced a red beam of light.Cons: The laser wasn't bright enough to see at 50 yards on an overcast day and therefore was useless for sighting in my scope.

Good price, pretty good product.
I'll admit that this product is cheaply made yes. It does however perform like it should. DO NOT close the bolt while this is in the chamber, in fact only use this with the bolt removed. It won't fit with the extractor and the cartridge won't seat right. Also I heard people saying it's not at true zero, this is true but the package recommends sighting at 25 yards, at this range(or really any range) the photons emitted from the laser don't have an opportunity to spread out very much so as long as you see a point through your scope; you can get close enough to zero that you wouldn't even know otherwise. So remember: NO BOLT in the rifle while using the laser and start your first zeroing at 25 yards(should be able to accurately shoot at 100 yards after this is done). If you have a scoped mosin, buy this!
