Delicious smoky flavor--but claim of "organic" is untrue
First of all, I made a homemade BBQ sauce with this stuff and it's wonderful--smoky with heat combined. I used it instead of Liquid Smoke in the recipe and the result was stunning. This is going to get a lot of use in my household. However, the Amazon description as of this writing says organic (which is why I purchased it) but the product I received is not organic. I called Amazon and they expressed concern and said they would fix the listing in 24-48 hours. That phone call was on Thursday Aug. 29 at 5 p.m., and as of this writing it is Sept. 9th, and still it says "organic."This product is not returnable. However, given the misrepresentation, Amazon gave me a refund worth about 50% of the purchase price. If you buy this, and it is not organic, you should get the same refund. Or a full refund, because they knew about it from my phone call, in no uncertain terms, and they ignored the problem. Either that, or the supplier has actually changed the product to organic, however, personally I wouldn't risk it since it's been an ongoing issue and Amazon hasn't changed it.So here's how I knew: When a product is organic it is labeled "Certified USDA organic." This one is advertised on Amazon as organic, but when the package arrives, it is not labeled organic. That right there was a red flag. The second clue is that as another helpful review points out, Frontier has two labels, the green border and the red border. The red border signifies organic products; the green means the product is conventional. This one is green border I called Frontier to double check and yes, in fact, the product I received is conventional because it has a green border.I originally gave this product four stars, waiting for Amazon to correct the listing. Since I see they have not, I downgraded it to three stars. That's pretty generous, as this is outright misrepresentation. The only possibility I can see that exonerates Amazon here is if the product has been changed to organic to match the description. However, given that several people have gotten nonorganic product, and I likely wasn't the first to complain, I wouldn't count on any change having been made. It will probably be a waste of your time.Frontier is a great brand. Buy from a supplier who has taken the time to make clear whether you are getting organic or nonorganic spices.

Authentic, fresh, and rich in flavor! I am one happy customer!
This is the real thing...deep rich musky, and full of flavor and aroma.. beautiful..and seems to be very fresh. We have always purchased our chili powders in one pound bags on trips to New Mexico. We have not traveled there in a while and were running dangerously low on our Chipotle. We use it every day. Whole Foods had the whole dried peppers but not the powder.I just received my first order of this product and was thrilled when I opened it! My whole kitchen smelled like the earthy, smokeyrich dust. I just love that this is authentic and fresh. This batch is medium hot, but not so hot that it masks the flavor of the food and the chipotle itself. Just a really nice kick to it. We will be using this freely, and taking it with us on travels. There is nothing quite like fresh chipotle! I plan to see what else Frontier offers. I would try any of their products based on the good quality of this batch.Question on the foil package. Is this a safe packaging material that doesn't leach? How long could you store it this way? I immediately put mine in glass jars and freeze it to keep more than a couple of weeks.I am very satisfied with this product!

Excellent and spicy!!
I mainly purchased this to use as part of a dry rub for BBQ, but I have also used it to make chili. It has a wonderful flavor, and it is definitely spicy. I love spicy food, but this was way too spicy for my wife. I used 3 tablespoons in a crock pot chili (8 serving size) and it was really spicy. So, just keep that in mind as I have used far more "standard" chili powder in the past and it hasn't even been close to as spicy. One of the reviews mentioned that this is not organic, and they are probably right. The label on the original packaging is definitely green (should be red according to the reviewer), and there is clearly another sticker on top of that claiming organic. For that reason, I mark it 4 stars. The whole organic thing is kind of a marketing ploy (there are plenty of organic products out there that the farmers just can't pay the cost associated with being certified). Either way, I would consider this false advertising. Also, this is A LOT of chili powder. I had an empty chili powder container that I poured this into, then I just used a vacuum sealer to seal the original bag (inside a vacuum seal bag) to keep it fresh. So, when my chili powder shaker runs low, I can just open this up and use more (then reseal). I feel like if you don't keep this air tight, the quality will definitely degrade over time. Even using this in rubs for BBQ, I feel like it will last me a year.

Spice that's nice.
Very happy with this purchase and the fact that it's organic and it's well sealed. Great Smokey heat flavor. Will definitely buy again.I even checked the frontier website to see that the SKU number is indeed for the organic version and not the regular version.

Really fresh and flavorful - excellent chipotle flavor and cheaper than the big brands too!
I got this to make regular salsa into "chipotle" salsa because I live in Asia and cannot get chipotle ANYTHING here.Dang! It was better than I thought it would be.I also make chipotle mayo and other sauces out of it, too.
