I kind of hate myself....
EDITED NOVEMBER 2018....I came here to purchase another one of these since the first one works so unbelievably well but I see that the product on this page is not the product I ordered last year. I have no idea whether this model works as well as the one I purchased. This looks very very different from mine. Here is the original review of a very different item. Same concept but totally different:Oh my God, I truly feel guilty. Not guilty enough to stop using the trap but guilty nevertheless. In short, this thing works flawlessly and is disturbingly effortless. Here's my story and why and how I use it....I have a photo studio on the ground floor of my house which abuts the garage which I where I store many of the furniture pieces I use in the photos. I have several little settee/sofas that I haul in and out of the studio and much to my horror I've been noticing more and more mouse poop all over the sofas. One of my clients noticed the poop on one piece, told me that they had a horrible problem with mice and cleared it up by purchasing one of these. He could not have given it higher praise. Killing anything makes me extremely uneasy so I held off on purchasing this for a few months but finally I couldn't take it anymore. These cute little things were wrecking my hard earned studio accessories and I feared the problem would just get worse so I did a little research and ultimately ended up with this one.It could not have been easier to set up... I put about three cashews in the back where food is supposed to go and in the morning when I went into the garage I heard the gentle beep beep beeping that told me I had a mouse. The next time I set it up I had 2 mice. Not sure how that happened but I'm not complaining. Next day another mouse and on and on. A couple of days I didn't really put in the cashews correctly so I got nothing. But absolutely every day that I put the cashews in the right way I awake to a dead mouse. I carry the whole box outside and leave the mouse somewhere conspicuous for the hawks or other predators to enjoy. Do I feel guilty. Yes I do. Am I comfortable dumping the dead bodies. No, I am still not used to it (it's only been a week but six kills so far). Am I looking forward to the day that there are no more mice to catch for a while? Absolutely. I will say that as deaths go, the mice DO look like they never saw it coming. They look peaceful. But no, that doesn't really make me feel better.BOTTOM LINE: Few things in life work as well as this electronic death box. I have gotten a mouse every day this is set up. Heaven only knows just how many more mice are living in the garage but this little device is likely to wipe out that population. And yes, I feel guilty but I just can't afford to pay for all the damage they cause. If you have a rodent problem buy this. You wont regret it

Got rats? GET THIS PRODUCT - THEY WORK GREAT!!
If you're battling rats THIS IS THE TRAP FOR YOU!! I've had an 'invasion' in my home for about 1 1/2 yrs. because of the 4 yr. drought we've had here. I've been in this house for over 15 yrs. and NEVER had this problem before. I tried EVERYTHING in the world to try to eradicate them but nothing worked like this little black box! I bought 2 but decided to try one out first because they are rather pricey. But when I add up all the money I'd already spent on other types of traps I probably could have bought 4 of these! This is a genius trap and works like a charm!! Believe me, I tried several different traps, went on youtube to see what other people were doing and tried everything from the 'snap traps' (which almost broke my thumb with trying to set them up - to me they were very scary, but they did work most of the time). Those filthy buggers must have figured them out though because they weren't catching them like they did when I first started using them. I snapped my right hand twice trying to bait those traps and it was miserable (so bad that I took photos of my hands because I couldn't believe the damage they did to my hand, and it hurt super bad, SERIOUSLY!) I tried the "5 gallon bucket trick" baiting it with peanut butter - oh do they love peanut butter! No luck with that either, I was so disgusted - these things were chewing my house up, EVERYTHING including my carpet!! They'll eat anything and everything, even chew up paper (boxes, newspapers, paper towels, etc.). I'd clean up their mess but they'd just keep coming back for more. FINALLY I FOUND THIS ZAP TRAP and decided I'd give them a try, I'd tried everything else and nothing was working. I'd even called a "rat specialist" and he was going to do the job for $200 bucks! So last night I set the trap with dry dog food "bits" (they love that stuff too!). I dropped 2 pieces in front of the entrance and put two bits inside the trap (where you're suppose to, see the instructions). The first night the dog food OUTSIDE the trap was gone, but no rat inside. I was kind of bummed, but left the trap there anyway. The second morning I got up, opened my bedroom door and I could hear the sweet sound of the BEEP, BEEP, BEEP - indicating that something was trapped. YAHOO!! There was a good sized RAT and he was DEAD!!! VICTORY! I was over joyed! This has been an ongoing battle and I was sure I was going to have to pay the exterminator for sure. Listen, I tried so many different ways to catch these awful things and this was going to be my last attempt. Needless to say I was very very happy!! So tonight, I will set up the other one as well. Two's better than one right! I hope these never stop working because they are easy to bait, they are covered so that kids or pets can't get into them, AND once you catch one there's no bloody mess or scary snap-trap to bait again!! I did place them where my dog couldn't get to them, just in case. Get these, you won't be disappointed (like I'd been with all of my other 'efforts'!). My house is now my castle again, but WITHOUT those nasty filthy disease carrying gross things that leave 'droppings' on everything. Now I can get out the Clorox and clean my kitchen and everything else and hopefully never have to deal with those creepy things again!! By the way, clean up was so easy, I just got a bag, grabbed the tail with a paper towel and tossed it into the bag and outside into the garbage bin! It couldn't have been easier! After a "catch" I unplugged each unit, removed the top part and wiped the inside down with regular old alcohol. I was a bit concerned that the smell of the alcohol might turn them away but it didn't (BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE UNIT BEFORE REMOVING THE TOP 'COVER' FOR SAFETY PURPOSES!) I LOVE THESE TRAPS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!! :)

This thing is the Cat's MEOW!!!!
I was skeptical pf an electronic rat killer. But I followed directions but some peanut butter with a sesame stick treat in the bait tray and left it for the night. To my surprise and astonishment, the next morning a rat tail was hanging out the back. Yahoo! Removed the top half and no mess no blood and guts, just a clean, dead California tree rat. We just moved to Southern California and our neighbors said we shouldn't feed the birds or you would have rats around. Sure enough, our dog started chasing something around the bushes and my wife saw one of the critters. With a dog and grandkid visiting, I didn't want poisoned rats laying about. And snap traps were also a problem. After some searching, actually, my daughter told me, about these electronic wonders. The rat didn't even get a final meal. He was stopped in his tracks. Fantastic product - Highly recommended. And safe, but to be sure, I placed mine in a small storage bin, just slightly bigger than trap with a hole cut for the opening. Buy one!

Totally worth the money! Highly recommend!
A month or so ago I heard a scurry and I was terrified. A few weeks ago I got up in the middle night and I saw a long tail disappearing into my pantry. In this time I have purchased deterrents, sticky traps, and poisons. I really didn't want to go the trap route bc disposal of a dead mutilated rodent was just as disturbing as the rodent itself. So now it's Sunday night and I'm sitting in my kitchen and bold as can be this rat comes walking along and jumps in pantry! I threw things and screamed. This jerkface rodent didn't care. Ordered this raptrap with my prime membership and got it Monday. Set it up and just a few hours later I heard the sound of sweet victory!!! Cleanup was easy and not at all gross. I just picked it up and dumped it in outside trash can!
