MIKASA Four Square Ball

I bought this for my son to play 4 square with. Upon opening the package I noticed how stinky the ball was. Luckily, it was raining here so we were unable to play right away and we let it air out. After a week of it sitting in the shed we went to fetch the ball out and it had already gone flat. We pumped the ball up and played a few games of four square and placed it back in our shed. The next day when he went to grab the ball again it was lopsided. I’m disappointed with the quality of the ball.

I bought four of these for group kids' games on turf. Of the four, all were in "new" condition and actually inflated to stated dimensions and held their round, ball shape. (Not so with other brands I had purchased at same time to compare: oblong when inflated & damaged right out of the box.) The kids went for these bright, colorful balls first - attractive in that sense. I'll give 'em 5 stars if they hold their air, their shape, and prove durable in the long run. The ball surface is a rubberized, textured cover, softer than a leather soccer ball or basketball, harder than a foam-type ball. One youngster inadvertently took a strong, kickball shot directly to the face from about four feet away. It stung a bit, he cried a little, but came back to play some more with no bruising or scraping. Overall, a good ball choice for games where accidental contact with the ball may occur.

The ball was a bit oddly shaped when it arrived. I pumped it up to the correct PSI and thought I'd trust the reviews that say it will get rounder. Nope. Look at the attached picture. It got more out of round and then the material started to deteriorate. This ball lived inside for 99% of it's life and was only used on our back patio probably half a dozen times.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. We played with it once in the backyard and put it in the garage. A few days later we went to get it and it was flat. I attempted to inflate it and it was cracked. It had a hole after playing with it ONCE! Save your money. Ugh

This ball didn't hold its shape. It is distorted badly enough that it is not really possible to play a fair game of foursquare with it. Maybe I got a dud, but I'll look for a different brand for the next one. Odd, because the other Mikasa ball I have for volleyball is very high quality.

This was a complete piece of garbage! It came folded up and as a result it had a crease and never assumed a sphere after being pumped up. It was left in the sun attempting to let it reform when it popped and broke along a fold line! Luckily it only cost about $7.

I read a lot of reviews for different balls and all had some complaints for different reasons. This one was one with better reviews and we've been pleased with it. My 11 yo son and his friends play four square with this on hot concrete all the time and it is holding up wonderfully and still looks practically new. If it ever pops I will definitely buy again.

It was round like a ball should be but since I just received it I can't say how durable it will be. That review will have to come at a later date.
