Great and sturdy tool. I don't know how it will hold up in the long haul, but it sure looks to be promising. It came with a very nice carry case and so far it works perfectly for various tasks related to machining.

Unlike the cheapies, these actually WORK right out of the box. I really don't know why they bother with the spiffy case, but that's what they did... And they are actually made from steel! Not Aluminum.

This is a prime case of you get what you pay for. Anyone complaining about quality issues in my opinion is being silly. You're paying 40 bucks for TWO auto center punches. Do people think it costs 5 dollars to produce these things? You're lucky that you get this kind of quality for 40 bucks let alone two of them in case one fails. Cons: alright so for 40 bucks you do have slight issues. One is the finish on the non-painted metal. Due to the lack of a proper finish, this portion can develop rust. I had to spend a few minutes polishing both with a dremel to provide them a slight seal against this. easy enough. Second, occasionally the mechanism for punching will not work. I had 2 options every time. Either try again or quickly take it apart and put it back together. I have yet to have either of them stop working and I use them ALOT. At least a thousand times a job. I would provide a pros column but it's pretty self-explanatory. This is a value automatic center punch that shows above-average quality when compared to the average center punch on Amazon. In my opinion, these are well worth the money. If you are working with very hard metal then use some common sense and buy a better brand like Starret. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize these punches will be more useful to a woodworker due to the lower quality. Anywho hope I helped some tradesmen out there!

Quality, never fails to reset unlike the one with the big red knob does.

I believe in the right tool for the job. These punches are a nice addition to my tool box. Work well.

Not a hardened punch will flatten on cast iron Aluminium and copper are fine but useless after that. No issues with spring mechanism
