Boss Maul
This maul is legit! It has a beautiful hand forged head that is securely mounted on a thick handle with perfect grain orientation. After debating taking out a 2nd mortgage to buy a Gransfors, I'm glad I didn't, Müller bests. Wood better run...

Best I've Found in 45 Years, Period.
I've used this 3 kg Muller maul for 7 yrs now. Absolutely first-class metallurgy of head- holds an edge with poll tough enough to give & take a pounding without deforming. Head shape is simply excellent at splitting wood, so good that I ground some el-cheapo mauls to similar shape with great effect. (Head faces are simply FLAT @ 30 DEG angle.) Head spreads the splits apart, clear of the handle. Handle is prime hickory, thicker near the head. This is the maul I use first for any tough rounds. Heavier IMO is not better. Shop around- can be had for 90 "Georges".
