Can i control rgbw strip with it? sorry for noob question.

No this one does RGB. You need to find one that has RGBW. There are some that have a different order of the letters than your strip may have and they will still work, but you have to be sure to connect the wires correctly.

Can this controller connect directly to a laptop with the rj45 jack?

I’m 99% sure you need something like a DMX controller like DMXIS to plug into the laptop through USB. This is what I do.
